How I Met Your Mother

CBS (ended 2014)

  • Season 4 Episode 6: Happily Ever After

  • When Robin is having her flashback, she is clearly dressed as a boy, but in "Memories", the last episode of the third season, when she has a flashback to tell her dog's miracle history, she must be the same age, and she is dressed with a very girlie style, and has long hair.

  • In "Slutty Pumpkin" Robin told Ted that she's never played any team sports. However, in this episode we can see she played ice hockey in a team via flashbacks.

  • Season 4 Episode 9: The Naked Man

  • At the end when Mitch is walking down the street, he has two shadows: one projected on the pavement and another projected onto the wall behind him.

  • When Lily is about to write down the "50 reasons to have sex," she takes her pen out of her purse, takes off the cap, then grabs her cocktail napkin. But two camera shots later, she is again taking off the pen cap.

  • When Ted is describing all the crazy stuff he had walked into at their old apartment, they show the goat with date May 8, 2009. However, from previous references to the goat, the first time Ted saw the goat was some days before Ted's 31st birthday which, as stated on "The Goat", is April 25th, 2009.

  • When Barney's date yells at him and throws him out, as she turns back towards the camera her lips are visibly not moving, even though her voice can be heard.

  • When Ted is explaining the weird things he has walked in on at the apartment, a scene is shown from dated from 2004 in which he walks in on Lily painting several gymnasts posing. If this had taken place in 2004 Lily would have still had red hair.

  • Season 4 Episode 10: The Fight

  • The scene that shows Thanksgiving in 3-5 years correctly leaves out Marshall's father, Marvin. As we now know, Marvin Eriksen dies in the Season 6 episode "Bad News", two years from this episode.

  • At the end of the episode we see a flash forward to "Thanksgiving three to five years from now" and it is Marshall's family and Lily, but in Slapsgiving Ted states that every year all the friends spend Thanksgiving at Marshall and Lily's (not his parents).

  • In this episode Marshall states, "I've been in plenty of fights," a point which is proven by the end of the episode. But in "Sweet Taste of Liberty", after he confronts a man about touching Lily he claims he's never been in a fight before.

  • Season 4 Episode 11: Little Minnesota

  • Vikings jerseys worn in the Minnesota-themed bar bear the last names of series star Cobie Smulders, episode writer Chuck Tatham, episode director Pamela Fryman, and series co-creator Carter Bays.

  • Season 4 Episode 14: The Possimpible

  • Lily's "Special Skills and Interests" on her resume reads as follows: Competitive Speed Eater (can eat 33 hot dogs in 8 minutes; New York City Speed Eating Champion, Junior Division, 1995), Painting, (Oil, Acrylics), Fluent in Italian, Certified in Teaching English as a Second Language, Proficient in Photoshop, Quark, Java.

  • According to Marshall's resume, he was also a finalist in the National Environmental Essay Competition in 1996, a Nicollet County Slam Dunk Champion in 1995, and Camper of the Year in 1990.

  • Along with "Program Director, 88.1 Wesleyan University Radio (WESU-FM)," "Summer Associate at Gradmore, Jellinek & Ross Parners, Boston, MA" and "Supervising Lifeguard at Poplar Hills Town House Condominiums, Columbus, OH" are also featured on Ted's resume.

  • Season 4 Episode 16: Sorry, Bro

  • In this episode, Taran Killam returns to the series as recurring character Blauman. However, in the previous episode "Life Among the Gorillas", Barney recounts the story of Blauman, who quit his job at GNB, became a janitor, then died.

  • Season 4 Episode 17: The Front Porch

  • In the scene where Ted, Barney, Marshall and Lily gathered to watch Robin's morning show, it can be seen that Robin showed a photo of the gang to her viewers. And it was clearly the photo that they "supposedly" capture one year after that, when they meet up at the bar, drinking the 2500 dollar scotch (this can be seen in episode 4 of season 4 : Intervention). How can the picture exist when it was actually taken one year after that?

  • Barney says he always has to lie perfectly still so won't wrinkle his suitjama. However, in 2x05 when Lily is living with Barney we actually see him in two different pajamas, non of them being a suitjama.

  • Season 4 Episode 19: Murtaugh

  • Old Persons List includes:

    - Put on reading glasses
    - Yell at neighborhood kids
    - Go to bed at 8
    - Wake up at 4am
    - Eat dinner at 4pm
    - Take forever to answer the phone

  • The Murtaugh list includes: - Playing laser tag - Pull an all–nighter - Eat an entire pizza - Hang posters on your wall without frames - Get ear pierced - Do laundry at mom's house - Crash on a friends futon instead of getting a hotel room - Put off going to the doctor¬ - Drinking shots with strangers - Leave annoying two person message on your answering machine - Help someone move out of a six-floor walk-up in exchange for pizza and beer - Dye your hair a funny color - Go to a rave - Drink from a Beer bong

  • When Barney gets warned that he will be banned from laser tag if he goes on playing so aggressively, one can read on the whiteboard behind that he holds all the records.
