Ted and Robin are happy together and Marshall is a wreck. Barney can't stand the new love or the eternal misery of any of them. Ted is ripping on Lily for leaving and when Robin protests that Lily is not a horrible person Ted realizes he's in trouble and says that he likes her eyes and they start making out. Barney takes Marshall to see strippers with the theory that Marshall's memory is full of images of Lily's breasts and that he won't be able to get over her until he overwrites those images with images of other women's breasts. It doesn't work. Robin takes Marshall out to a shooting galley and teaches him to shoot. It cheers Marshall up a little and Robin makes Marshall promise not to tell Ted that she goes there because Ted doesn't like guns. Marshall is cheered up for a little while and Ted congatulates her. Ted tries to take Robin away for the weekend but it doesn't work because Marshall finds Lily's credit card bills and they have to come home. Marshall fantasizes that Lily is hanging out with George Clinton and a ferret and that she's plays tennis with George Clinton. According to Marshall, Lily wouldn't play tennis with him no matter how much he asked and Marshall is afraid of ferrets because they are like big, long rats. Marshall sees that hotel charges were made in NYC with Lily's card and he goes to see her. A man opens the door and Marshall punches him and runs away. Turns out that the man had stolen Lily's identity and many other people's and he was put in jail. Ted finds Marshall in the hotel bar where he is getting drunk. Ted tries to remind Marshall that he is somebody without Lily and Marshall resolves that from that moment on he'd be okay. In the morning he wasn't. 67 days after Lily left he was and he served Ted and Robin some horrible pancakes. Barney, Ted, Robin, and Marshall went to the bar to hang out that night. Lily showed up at the window outside and she saw them through it. Then she turned around and left.
