The second episode of this show answers the question I posed in my review of the pilot: will this show be a full-fledged comedy or a drama with a few laughs in it.
Clearly it is the latter as I laughed three, maybe four times tonight and that was by design. There were a few failed jokes, but for the most part this was an episode to set up future storylines and not have you rolling on the floor laughing (ROFL as the kids say.)
The show is very well-written though, as is just about everything on HBO not titled True Blood. The dialogue is believable, and as someone who lives in NYC, I can relate to it.
How to Make it in America is interesting, but I'm still hesitant toward saying I "like" this show. My jeans are all 5 years old, can I really relate to a show about fashion? This was almost like a guy's version of MTV reality series The City.
