Huckleberry Hound

The spy express train was leaving from track number 13. This is an unlucky number, and it has been in one way or another associated with Huck before (usually being his car number).

Huck is called the man of a thousand faces, even though he's only able to make only one face.

This is the second appearance of Dinky Dalton. He has not been seen since the first episode, "Sheriff Huckleberry".
However, his design is different in this episode from his initial one.

This is the eighth Wild West-themed episode of Huckleberry Hound. The others were, episodes 1, "Sheriff Huckleberry", 4, "Rustler Hustler Huck", 13, "Sheep Shape Sheepherder", 15, "Hokum Smokum", 29, "Pony Boy Huck", 41, "Huck Hound's Tale", and 44, "Fast Gun Huck".

This is the second time Huck goes up against a gorilla. The first time was in episode 5, "Huckleberry Hound Meets Wee Willie".

This is the second time Huck portrays a fireman. The first time was in episode 12, "Fireman Huck".

Huck's potential customer is seen watching Quick Draw McGraw on TV. Quick Draw McGraw is another one of the Hanna-Barbera animated characters.

In this episode Huck admits that 13 is one of his lucky numbers.

Fats Dynamo would later appear in an Atom Ant cartoon, as part of The Atom Ant/Secret Squirrel Show, in 1965. He was featured as Big Fats Dynamo in the segment titled "Up and Atom"; alongside his new name he also had a slightly different design and was a prisoner on Rebel's Island Prison.

The prison's baseball team was called The Prison Pirates.

For a change, Huck doesn't sing "Oh my darling, Clementine" in this episode. Instead he sings, "Frere Jacques".

This is the fifth time Huck portrays a police officer. The other times this happened was in episodes 5, "Huckleberry Hound Meets Wee Willie", episode 10, "Freeway Patrol", 28, "Cop And Saucer", and 33, "Piccadilly Dilly".

However, this is the first time he is presented as a French gendarme.

This episode marks the fifth and last appearance of the character of Pierre on the show. He has also been featured in episodes 7, "Tricky Trapper", 20, "Ski Champ Chump", 24, "Ten Pin Alley", and 37, "Legion Bound Hound".

However, this is only the fourth time he is called Powerful Pierre. In his second appearance, he was called Powerhouse Pierre.

Huck's weight is revealed in this episode. It is only 37 pounds. (approximately 16.65 Kilograms)

Goof: The spots on Huck's clothes keep disappearing and reappearing again.

This is the third episode that takes place in Africa. The other two were episodes 3, "Lion-Hearted Huck", and 27, "Somebody's Lion".

Huck mentions he watched western movies on TV. He has also portrayed a cowboy in several episodes of the show so far.

The leprechaun's newspaper is revealed to be "The Leprechaun Legend".

Huck falls down a well in this episode. He gets out of it quickly, but doesn't say anything if he would have drown or not. This doesn't contradicts the fact he himself has stated that he cannot swim, nor does it deny it.

This episode's title card is similar to the one used in episode 11 ("Dragon Slayer Huck"); both show Huck running away from a dragon or dinosaur which shoots fire either from its mouth or nose. The only real differences being the direction Huck is running, and his clothes.
