  • One of the best Christmas episodes on a TV series ever!

    10
Amazing, great, brilliant... These are some of the adjectives I can a apply to this episode, one of the best Christmas episodes of a TV series I have ever seen.

It's very touching as well because on one hand we have Beth's mum cancer and on the other and, we have Izzie's friend, Lois, alive in hospital thanks to a machine. To this point we knew Huff's family but only heard about Beh's mum and sister Patty. Beth's family goes to celebrate Christmas to Los Angeles and arrive a day before everybody had expected which is funny because Beth was complaining about the huge tree Huff bought for her family and the dinner. In the end she asked Huff for his forgiven because she ruined the Christmas. She did not do that but just was clear about Madeline's cancer and how she felt about her mum's decission of not having chemo.

I like the scene when Izzie and her friends are in the hospital playing Bridge while visiting Lois and talking about it's not fare her friend is going to die in that place connected to a machine. Izzie visits her friend one last time to give her what she thinks is the best gift she can give her, and after reading her a Christmas tale, she disconnects the machine in what I think is a very valiant decision of the writers.moreless

    • Huff: I'm so sorry sweetie. Have I been annoying you with my Christmas spirit?
Beth: You're right. I'm sorry. And now if you'll excuse me I have to peel 20 potatoes, core a dozen apples, shell pecans, make a pie crust to refrigerate overnight, toast the croutons for the dressing, mull the wine, poach the cranberries, make the glaze for the ham, and soak the turkey in brine.
Huff: Honey, do you have to cook the whole dinner tonight?
      Beth: That is the prep.

    • Beth: What the hell is this?
Izzy: It's a tree dear and watch your language, it's Christmas.
Beth: I'm so sorry. I think you have the wrong address.
