  • Trivia

    • Anyone with Joubert's connections could easily trace a cell phone call. And yet Chance lets Katherine keep her cell phone turned on, as seen when she receives Winston's call.

    • Trivia: Winston's first name is revealed as Laverne.

  • Quotes

    • Chance: Nice to meet you, Winston. It's your first name or your last name?
      Winston: Last.
      Chance: What's your first name?
      Winston: Detective.

    • Winston: What kind of work problems you got?
Chance: Oh, breakdown in civility. Coworkers I don't trust. Boss who doesn't trust me. Lately I've been questioning my choice of profession.
Winston: Yeah, well, that's going around. Laverne. Laverne Winston. Yeah, I got a name that sounds like a girl's name. I also carry a .45. I got a history of disciplinary problems, and this ain't my first drink today.

    • Chance: No, you don't have to take this. I'm just saying... (Katherine takes the gun and aims at him) Apparently you know what you're doing.
Katherine: I'm single, and I live downtown.

    • Chance: Do you remember what you said? Nobody deserves to die.
      "Christopher Chance": Sounds like me.
Chance: No, before that, I just did my job, slept at night--everything was easy.
"Christopher Chance": No, it wasn't. It was never easy. You just didn't know it yet.

Referencing the classic Dr. Seuss story and subsequent television adaptation, How the Grinch Stole Christmas. The Grinch is an unpleasant grouch who hates the holidays, and resolves to steal Christmas. When he steals all of the holiday presents and food but almost loses them over a cliff, his heart "grows three that day" with love and he finds the strength to save them.
