  • I liked this episode, better than number two actually...

...but I'm not certain the FBI 'lady in red' has what it takes to be the woman who gets Chance to leave his DNA behind...

That said, I liked the episode's premise and the execution. And while I think there are still some minor issues to be worked out in the series overall, there is enough stable story line established, the character development is moving nicely, the mystery of Chance's past life is very tantalizing and you can't argue with the action.

And when it rains 'whatever happened to" characters on TV these days, it actually pours with them: enter, for the second time in one week (he was on The Mentalist earlier this week), the one and only Sean Maher (Dr. Simon Tam from Firefly) as the beleaguered brother of the dead 'agent' from Chance's past. 'Chance's' admonition to him to "pick up if I call" may mean a recurring role for Maher as 'Chance's' past is revealed throughout the season. That would be nice. I'm liking the progress of the series and I'm hoping FOX gives "Chance" the chance to go the distance...moreless

Well, they do seem to be improving the episodes and the characters themselves seem more comfortable. I think the one problem with this episode is we don't really have enough invested in Chance yet to really be on edge about the poisoning. It all seems so very superficial.

On the other hand the development of the FBI Agent Laura played by Courtney Ford might be a brilliant stroke. She adds a little chemistry to the all male testosterone of the cast. The fact that Chance left a fingerprint for her to find on purpose says something at this point. Here's a character that can maybe ruffle Chance's feathers.

The story itself seemed a little flimsy, but so have the ones before this so far. As I stated I like the characters overall, especially Guerrero. His character is solid. Avoiding the gas, using the defibrillator, and finding the antidote. He continues to be a great asset for the team. Not to mention his decoding, analytical and influential work!

Overall a big improvement over the Pilot and a slight improvement over episode two. At this rate we should see a pretty complete, flawless episode by about number six or seven. I think they need to concentrate on giving more substance to the main character and either give him a direct foil (like Sherlock Holmes Moriarty) or a chemistry match from a romantic standpoint like the FBI agent tonight. Either of those would help the episodes a great deal. Thanks for reading...moreless

This episode was tighter and better than even #2. I'm seeing a more fluid storyline and character development. I sure would like to know the deal with Guerrero though! Regardless the cast continues to shine and the action and adventure sequences are nicely done. I loved the introduction of FBI Agent Barnes and hope we see her again. She might prove to add some history and depth as she possibly (one might expect) delves into Christopher Chance's past. My only real beef with the show at this stage are the title credits and general score of the show. While I love how they look and the animation, the music is dreadfully wrong. I get the feeling they are looking for the days of old with Bond, but they need to update the music to engage TODAY's viewers. Including me!moreless
