Goof: At the start of the episode, Ray is swimming with Jessica, and they are both soaked when they go back in the tent. When Jessica leaves and Ray is talking with her outside the tent, Ray's hair is alternately wet & messy or dry & styled.
Goof: When Ray is at the old Tiger Stadium location with Tanya, his hands move in and out of the pockets of his sweatshirt as the camera changes angles.
Goof: When Lenore is having a drink in the bar with Horny Patty, she repeatedly takes her olive out of her drink and taps it against the glass, without putting it back in the glass.
Goof: While Ray is talking to Jessica through the fence at the baseball diamond, his fingers that he has poking through the fence switch as the camera angle changes. In addition, between edits, his arm moves from his side to up against the fence several times.
Although Lenore's original dog's name is "Horny Patty" and is supposedly female, it's obvious by its "equipment" that its sex doesn't match its description - it's played by a male dog.
Goof: When Tanya and Lenore are having their argument over the sweater, the women in the background watching the confrontation flip back and forth from watching to having their backs turned to the exchange.
Goof: When Tanya meets up with the hookers on the street, her driver-side car window changes position between scenes.
For this entire season, Thomas Jane ("Ray") was nominated for the 2010 Golden Globe Award for "Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series-Comedy or Musical", and Jane Adams ("Tanya") was nominated for "Best Performance by an Actress In a Supporting Role in a Series, Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made For Television".
Episode Title: "A dick and a dream" is what Ray thinks he has left as he contemplates on his life by the lake. "Fight the honey" refers to the honey and beehives Ray finds inside the wall of his house.
When Ray and Tanya are having hotdogs at a diner, you can see that some of the items on the table change in each shot.
• The wrapping paper in front of Ray goes from crumpled to folded out.
• When we first see Tanya's glass, we can see the words "Pepsi-Cola" on it, with the "P" barely visible. In the next shot, the glass has been turned so that only the word "Pepsi" can be seen. In the next shot, the full "Pepsi-Cola" sign can be seen (the "P" is clearly visible).
• When Tanya first puts the mustard bottle down on the table, we can see neither the front nor the back label. In the next shot, the bottle has been turned so that most of the front label can be seen. In the next shot, when we can see the bottle from behind Tanya, it has been turned back to the first position (none of the labels is visible). In the next shot, from Ray's perspective, the bottle has been turned so that all of the back label can be seen.
The book Tanya is reading while lying on the sofa is The Power of Positive Thinking by Norman Vincent Peale.
The movies playing at 8PM and midnight on Horror Night at the Redford Cinema are 10,000 Corpses and Die, Maggots, Die!.
The book Tanya is reading before she used it to swat a fly on her table is Women Who Run with the Wolves by Clarissa Pinkola Estes.
Goof: As Jessica and Ronnie talk about their financial situation while Damon and Darby are rock climbing, Ronnie's arms alternate between being folded and straight out on the table as the camera angle changes back and forth. The climbers in the background also appear and disappear in different shots.
Fifty Bucks:
Ray ended up earning $50 (as "Big Donnie") in the pilot at his first outing as a male prostitute ("Big Donnie"). At the time, he accepted it gladly (albeit it was an amount given to him by "Sugar" who wouldn't even open the door because she "changed her mind").
Now, both Ray and Tanya call $50 insulting.
Episode Title: "Ith a prothetic" is a line spoken by a lisping Damon when his father asks him about his pierced tongue. "I think you come just right" is what Ray tells Tanya to reassure her after having doubts about their first sexual encounter.
Goof: In the scene where Ray is supposed to give a note to Jemma outside her workplace, he is holding out the paper towards Jemma while she walks away. In the next immediate shot, the hand holding the note jumped from being extended to being on his waist. Ray then pulls the note from under his jacket, holds it out, and tears it up.
Goof: When Jessica yells at Ray in the tent, he is so startled that he drops the pen and pad he is holding. The next shot shows Ray holding both items in his right hand.
The Michigan plate number on Ray's car is JXB-92H1.
