  • A shoot 'em up episode with enough guns to outfit a small army. Hunter ends up in the middle of an ethnic gang war in Chinatown and breaks out the big weaponry. If it's action you're looking for, you won't be disappointed.

Night of the Dragons was enjoyable as an almost pure action episode with a few comedic moments for variety. Hunter and McCall get involved in a gang war between the Vietnamese and the Chinese in Chinatown. Hunter's fistfight with the guy he kept calling "Whale Bait" was less than convincing but it was amusing to see. The punches were thrown very slowly and the fight choreography was too stilted. It didn't look like a real fight. The "Whale Bait" line made me laugh though.

The episode went over the top towards the end, which is not necessarily a bad thing. Hunter looked like he was in a war movie, with automatic weapons firing left and right, a team of angry thugs after him, and winding passageways underground to explore. Hunter was on the prowl with a Terminator or Rambo-style shotgun. He fought off perhaps a dozen of the bad guys before the SWAT team showed up. Did it make any sense? Maybe not. Was it entertaining? In a word, yes!
