At the start of the episode the crew are at a movie theater. As they are leaving, Danny tells another movie-goer that in the end the five characters get blown up in a boat. This is what happens in the season 4 finale.

This is the first episode of "Hustle" which doesn't feature it's leading man, Adrian Lester. He was unable to commit to Series/Season 4 due to scheduling conflicts. In addition to filming the 2007 summer blockbuster Spiderman 3, he also had several other projects in the works in the US including a pilot for Fox entitled Beyond.
Season 4 marked a departure from the usual airing of the series. Typically, the BBC would air the episode in the UK and then 6 to 9 months later they would air in the US on AMC. However, due to the additional funding that AMC provided for the production, Series 4 debuted in the US prior to airing in the UK.
When Danny and Ash are in their SUV discussing the fact that the French call a quarter pounder with cheese a Royal with cheese, this is an allusion to the famous opening scene to Pulp Fiction when John Travolta and Samual L. Jackson are discussing the same topic.
Danny mentions having acquired a pair of Dorothy's Red Ruby slippers from a private collector. These are the shoes worn by the character of Dorothy in the 1939 file The Wizard of Oz. There are actually 5 pairs of these shoes in existence. One pair is on display at the Smithsonian. Debbie Reynolds owns the test pair. The rest are owned by private collectors, except for one pair which was stolen from the Judy Garland Museum in 2005 and has yet to be recovered.
