I must confess, this is one of my favorite of the IDOJ episodes. It is one of the more serious ones, although the comedy between Roger Healey and Doctor Bellows as Roj does a favor for Tony and Tony and Jeannie in the Thieves' Market is pretty good. What really drives this episode, though, is the love that Tony has for Jeannie to sacrifice his career to make the trip to Mecca to save her. This is one of the few times that, when presented with a situation that could spell all kinds of trouble for Tony, he steps up to the plate unhesitating and not yelling at Jeannie. It is also great to see him saving her for a change, since normally, she gets him out of trouble at the end. The vanishing effect is very well done, too (it would later be repeated in "The Girl Who Never Had a Birthday"), and the ending where Jeannie and Tony ride away in a carriage is so romantic.
