I love this episode! After 4 seasons of flirting Tony finally realizes his love for Jeannie. I think its sweet how he is willing to risk his job to get Jeannie back. This to me also shows why Roger is Tony's best frind. He is also willing to lose his job to help Tony get Jeannie back. I just love this episode! It makes me smile everytime I watch it. I know that Larry Hagman and Barbara Eden didn't like the idea of Tony and Jeannie getting married but all their fans loved the idea! Everyone knew that they had to be together. They are the perfect TV couple!moreless

    • In his autobiography, "The Other Side Of Me", creator/producer Sidney Sheldon recalled that NBC programming executive Mort Werner warned him that unless Jeannie and Tony were married in the fifth season, there wouldn't BE a "fifth season". According to writer James Henerson, there were meetings between Werner, several of NBC's brass and Sheldon, producer Claudio Guzman, Henerson, and Barbara and Larry. But, as Henerson told Richard David Barnes, "The network was adamant. 'You gotta do it'."

    • This episode marks the end of an era as Jeannie will start to wear her harem outfit only occasionally. In fact, there were a lot of episodes where she doesn't wear it in all in favor of regular outfits. This can be seen as a sign that she wants to really fit in with her new friends the Bellowses and General Schaffer.

    • With Jeannie introduced as Tony's fiancee, we see an almost new kind of comic freedom in the remaining episodes of the series; she is now known by and free to interact with Dr. Bellows, General Schaffer, and has a regular female friend for the first time with Amanda Bellows. (While none of them still know she is a genie, they all take to her immediately- especially in the remaining episodes leading up to the wedding.)
