Lucy McGillicuddy Ricardo
Fred Hobart Mertz
When Ricky and Lucy are arguing because everyone is "tagging along" on their trip, Lucy says that it was the Mertz's own idea to join them not hers. This is false. In the episode "Getting Ready", it was Lucy who asked the Mertzes to go with them so that Ethel wouldn't be sad.
When packing the car for the long road-trip to Hollywood, the girls would drop luggage on the curb by the car and when entering the building they would all move right. In one scene, Lucy's mother goes right instead of left.
(While Lucy reads a letter from her mother, who can't remember Ricky's name)
Ethel: Oh, just wait until Mickey Richardson hears about this!
Ethel: You might be surprised what would happen if you took a real firm stand with Ricky.
Lucy: You think so?
Ethel: Sure. Look at the way I handle Fred.
Lucy: Yeah, but you can lick Fred.
Lucy: You mean to tell me that you got the bus driver to leave his route and bring you right to our door?
Mrs. McGillicuddy: I made a bargain with him. He promised to bring me here and I promised never to ride on a New York City bus again.
Ricky: I think he made a fine deal for himself.
Lucy: Well, I hope you're satisfied.
Ricky: Me? What did I do?
Lucy: Ethel heard you.
Ricky: How could she have heard me?
Lucy: How could she help hearing you with your big mouth and her big ears?
Lucy: Bless her little bird brain.
Ethel: Yeah like mother like...
