When Ethel comes in with John Wayne, Lucy pushes Ricky out of the way because he was standing on her mark.
When Lucy gets the phone call about her hair appointment, she looks at her wrist but there is no watch there.
The Mayer boy portraying Little Ricky playing in the cement was fussy during the filming of the scene because he didn't want to ruin his brand new shoes. He was promised new shoes, and he filmed the scene after the audience left.
The hair stylist, Irma, that Lucy mentions having an appointment with is a nod to Irma Kusely, Lucille Ball's hairstylist on the show.
Ethel: (on seeing a new set of footprints) Freddie the Forger strikes again.
Lucy: (Speaking about her hair appointment) If I have to go to jail, I do not want to be known as a frowsy redhead.
Lucy: Oh forget it, Fred. It's dishonest to forge someone else's footprints.
Ethel: Yeah.
Fred: Look who's turning honest all of a sudden, Dishwater Mertz and Froswy Ricardo.
Ricky: (about Fred's forgery) Well, for one thing, the feet are way too big.
Fred: Yeah, I guess I shouldn't have used Ethel's shoes.
Ricky: (on the phone) No sir, my wife is the frowsy redhead.
Ricky: (on the phone) This is Ricky Ricardo. Ricky Ricardo. Well I just made a picture of MGM. I'm an actor and an orchestra leader...
Lucy: And a stool pigeon.
Ricky: (repeats) And a stool pigeon.
Ethel: Have you seen the morning paper?
Ricky: Only as it flew by.
Lucy: I don't know what happened to Ethel.
Fred: Well let's just hope for the best.
Ricky: Don't worry Fred she'll show up.
Fred: I said let's hope for the best.
John Wayne: (about Lucy) Is she here?
Ricky: No.
John Wayne: Oh, that's too bad, I heard a lot about her from Bill Holden.
Ricky: (reading the paper about the stole footprints) Mr. and Mrs. Masset described the two women as a middle aged "Dish Water" Blonde...
Lucy: Oh, Oh... (laughs) Hey I didn't read that part.
Ethel: Go on...
Ricky: ...and a wild eyed frowsy red head. (Ethel laughs at Lucy)
In the episode you see a poster for Blood Alley.
