One of the strengths of this show is that the episodes are as fresh as they were in the fifties. This one, however, proves to be the exception to the rule.
Most of the episode consists of a long dream Lucy has about Scotland. The European trip episodes already suffer from rather poor stereotypes of the Old Continent, this over-the-top depiction of Scotland feels like a sketch on a variety show. Perhaps because it is presented as a dream, the sets are simplistic; the jokes are old and predictable. I couldn't help but feel that I was watching one of those fifties variety shows with Sid Caesar or Jackie Gleason.
