Lucy is due to leave for the hospital any minute to have her baby, and Ricky acts like she's going to blow up. When she goes into the bedroom to rest, Ricky and the Mertzes rehearse for the moment when Lucy goes into labor. It goes along very smoothly, but those memorable words "Ricky, this is it" make the room erupt into chaos. They finally manage to get to the hospital, where a dizzy Ricky can't remember where he lives or even his own last name. Lucy and Ricky kiss goodbye and she follows the doctor to the delivery rooms. Ricky is also scheduled to perform a voodoo number at the Tropicana that same night, and has to wear heavy makeup and costumes. When Fred arrives with Ricky's stuff, an expectant father who already has six daughters and yearns for a son gets a surprise -- triplets! Now he has nine daughters. A nurse walks by and sees Ricky in his costume and calls the police. Meanwhile, at the club, he is in the middle of his voodoo number when the news arrives -the baby is born! Ricky runs out of the club in his costume/makeup and back to the hospital. The police happen to be there, and they find out that the "monster" is really Ricky in his costume for the performance. The nurse who had been frightened tells Ricky that the other nurses are bringing his newborn son to the nursery window. Ricky falls backwards in a dead faint.
