    • QUOTES (5)

      • Paul: By the way, Orson needs an assistant for his magic act, so I suggested Lucy to him.
        Ricky: You did?
        Paul: Yes.
        Ricky: You are fired!
Paul: Now wait a minute. Wait a minute. You don't have to blow your top. It's only a benefit.
Ricky: Look, whenever Lucy gets into the act nobody benefits.

      • Lucy: Everybody goes to Florida for the winter. Even the birds go South.
Ricky: All right. I'll make you a deal. If you can get there the same way the birds do, you can go.

      • Lucy: Honestly! There's only one way I'm ever going to be able to stand this New York winter.
        Ethel: How?
        Lucy: Spend it in Florida.

      • Lucy: Where do you think you're going?
Ricky: From the look in your eyes, back to Cuba!

      • Orson Welles: Mrs. Ricardo, take your flippers off me.

    • NOTES (4)

      • According to film editor, Dann Cahn, there was an extra scene filmed with the Mertzes wearing Shakespearian costumes but it was cut due to the show running too long.

      • This is film editor Dann Cahn's favorite episode, because he got the chance to work with Orson Welles again.

      • Orson Welles appearance in this episode was at Lucy's insistance. Welles, whose career had taken a nose dive by this time, was down on his luck so he was camping out in the Arnazes guest cottage. Notorious for his drinking and obnoxiously crude behavior, Welles wore out his welcome at the Arnaz house as he did nothing but drink, play cards and treat everyone gruffly. Lucille had to find a way to get rid of her unwanted guest, especially since Desi was not one to turn down a drink when offered to him by Welles. Lucille decided to have this show written for him, so she could pay him salary for the appearance and he'd have money to get a place of his own.

      • Ellen Corby would later play Grandma on The Waltons.

    • ALLUSIONS (1)

      • Orson Wells: My 'Man from Mars' broadcast was 18 years ago....where were you?

Orson Wells is referring to his infamous 1938 Mercury Theatre of the Air radio adaption of the novel "War of the Worlds", which is said to have inadvertently caused panic in the streets when trusting listeners thought there was an actual alien invasion happening in the town of Grover's Mill, New Jersey.
