Ricky: Lucy, you haven't even got your dress on yet. You were supposed to be ready an hour ago.
Lucy: Well, it's all your fault.
Ricky: My fault?
Lucy: Yes. I wasted an hour telling you I'd be ready in a minute.
Ricky: We'll write down everything that you do during the day, and we'll allow so much time for each thing. 10 minutes for this, 15 minutes for that...
Lucy: Oh, I'm going to need more than 15 minutes for that.
(Ricky chooses a dress for Lucy.)
Lucy: No, Ethel has seen me too much in that.
Ricky: (showing a different dress) How about this one?
Lucy: Oh honey, everybody's seen me in that!
(Ricky takes another dress from the closet.)
Lucy: Oh, I wouldn't wear that to a movie.
Ricky: Why not? Don't tell me Gary Cooper has seen you in it.
Mr. Littlefield: Don't you people ever eat at your house?
Ricky: How about a good morning kiss?
Lucy: It's not on the schdule.
Ricky: How long does it take you in the bathtub?
Lucy: To do what?
Ricky: I'm making out a schedule so you can budget your time.
Lucy: Budget my time? You mean like I budget my money?
Ricky: Heaven forbid!
Ricky: We're going to have dinner with the new bus.
Edith Meiser (Mrs. Littlefield) worked with Vivian Vance in 1941 in the Broadway musical Let's Face It.
My Favorite Husband: "Time Budgeting"
This was Gale Gordon's first appearance on the show. He was picked by Lucy to play Fred Mertz but couldn't take the role because he was working on Our Miss Brooks starring Eve Arden. He also appeared on My Favorite Husband.
Mr. Littlefield: It's one thing wearing the trousers in the family, but it's another being a Simon Legree.
