The mess made to the Mertz's apartment was obviously Fred's fault, if he hadn't put the fan in front of the feathers it wouldn't have happened, so why should Lucy have to pay for the mess?
Lucille Ball mistakenly says "Repaint the Mertzes' furniture," you obviously don't paint indoor furniture. This goof remains in the episode but Desi Arnaz does correct her on-camera.
A feather from the redecorating scene in the Mertzes' apartment can be seen floating in Lucy's apartment when she's showing Ethel her new furniture.
Lucy: Ricky is giving me something--something that every woman has always wanted from her husband.
Ethel: A divorce?
(Ricky is going to buy Lucy a mink stole.)
Ricky: I wish you wouldn't make such a big point about how expensive it's going to be. After all, I'm getting it wholesale.
Lucy: Nobody's supposed to know that but you and me and the mink.
Ricky: What's the difference who knows?
Lucy: I want people to think that you love me retail, not 40 percent off.
Lucy: Ethel, you know how your apartment is.
Ethel: What do you mean?
Lucy: Well, the way it looks. Let's face it, it's sort of...What's the word I'm looking for?
Ethel: I don't use that kind of language.
Lucy: Look at that chair. It's all lumpy and sags in the wrong places.
Ethel: So does Fred.
Music performed on this episode included "Lily of the Valley".
Lucy gives the Mertzes the furniture she got in episode #63, "Lucy Wants New Furniture," and gets a brand new sofa set.
Ricky translates a saying his father taught him: "Don't kick the shin that stoles you." This is a variation of the actual saying "Don't bite the hand that feeds you."
