    • TRIVIA (1)

      • In this episode Mrs. McGillicuddy said that Lucy invited her to come with them to California, but in "California Here We Come" Mrs. McGillicuddy wrote Lucy a letter saying that she invited herself.

    • QUOTES (5)

      • Charlie: We'll start out by linking your name with glamour girls. You'll be seen in restaurants and nightclubs, holding hands, dancing cheek to cheek.
Ricky: Hold it! I am married.
        Charlie: Married?
        Ricky: Yeah.
Charlie: Now what did ya go and do that for?
Ricky: Well, I'm sorry, but I've been happily married for fourteen years.
Charlie: Say, that might be an angle in itself. (thinking) No, who'd believe it?

      • (Ricky is trying to explain to Mrs. McGillicuddy how to figure the time difference between New York and California)
Ricky: In the first place, they meant Pacific Coast Time. And in the second if you wanted to allow for the time, you should have added three hours. You did the whole thing backwards. You should've said 'Arriving at 3:30.'
        Mrs. McGillicuddy: Oh, pooh!
Ricky: Now look, I'm just trying to explain to you what you should've said because you don't--
Mrs. McGillicuddy: (interrupting) I can't hear a word you're saying. You see, it's only a quarter past three, so according to you, I'm not even here yet!

      • Lucy: You know how Mother is.
        Ricky: Yeah.
        Lucy: You take that back!
        Ricky: What?
Lucy: What you were thinking when you said "yeah".

      • Mrs. McGillicuddy: (scornfully) Well, if it isn't Mister Ingrate!
Ricky: I wish that just once your mother would get my name right.

      • Hedda Hopper: Is it raining outside? (Lucy is wet and is wearing a hat. She and Ricky shake their heads) No? (to herself) And I thought I wore crazy hats!

    • NOTES (3)

    • ALLUSIONS (1)

      • Mrs. McGillicuddy: Have you seen Ramon Navarro or Francis X. Bushman?

Ramon Navarro (1899-1968) and Francis X. Bushman (1883-1966) were silent film stars. They played the leads in the original production of Ben-Hur (1925).
