  • Most stereotype and shallow of Carly I have ever seen...

    1.0
    "Abysmal"
At first, Carly despises that thief with all her guts, which I deeply admire and agree with, she hates him and everything about his character and Spencer was dumb for forgiving him, and then what ya know? she starts smooching out with him only because he looks cute from up front! Most Shallow Charecater I have ever seen on TV! man what a disappointment and to think I actually respected Carly...

From idol straight girl to downhill crashing with the bad seeds, Carly gives up on all her morals and disrespects and disobeys Spencer just for a badboy she finds attractive, all those stunts she pulls go against everything she ever stood for: honesty, respect...

And just when you'd think she'd reached the bottom of shallowness, it even proves to be worse, the boy she likes, who's a thief, a punk, and a bad seed to society, she wants to dump him only because she found out he likes something she thinks isn't of his age, she crys about it! that was low, that was lower than low, and again, stood against many of what Carly always stood for in previous episodes...

Only part that was enjoyable was when Freddy got his well-deserved reward of finding out Griffin collects baby dolls and rubbing it in Carly's face, sweet sweet karma, Freddy deserves more of those moments cause he's the only one staying straight...
  • Worst episode yet...

iCarly is my favorite show, and I really like it when I hear some character is going to date or fall in love with another one, but then it turns out as a horrible episode. The characters new each other for six minutes, and hated each other at the beginning, and then, out of nowhere, they are kissing. Spencer, who thought Griffin was cool at first, immediately starts hating Griffin. Then, Griffin stops being a bad boy and starts being a "Pee-Wee baby lover." He liked Pee-Wee babies for a year, and he still was a bad boy, and then when Carly figures out about Pee-Wee babies, he is not a bad boy anymore. The only good part about this episode is the second sub-plot, when Sam has those dreams about soup, and Spencer tries to figure out what they mean.

    Overall Grade: C-

Before I saw the iMeet Fred episode I caught this episode on the night it premiered, and like many others I was very disappointed at this episode. The plot is that Carly meets this bad seed, and thief named Griffin, and she hates him at first. As time goes by though Carly develops feelings for Griffin, and starts to make out with him. Spencer objects to this, but Carly goes all nuts on him until Spencer acts spineless and lets her date Griffin. Some guardian you are Spencer. Eventually Carly learns that Griffin actually collects these childish and girly thing called Pee-Wee Toys, and Carly wants to end the relationship. Wait, what? You mean to tell me that Carly wants to break up with Griffin all because he collects dolls? Carly, Sam, and even Fred make fun of him about it, and act really cruel to him. I want to say that I collect Star Wars figurines, and yet I have a girlfriend who says she's fine with what I do. Carly even cries about how Griffin does something like that like as if it's the end of the world. I mean come on really? She's got to act like this to a boy? Eventually they do break up, and I am glad. Griffin deserves another girl than Carly. I can see now why no boy would date Carly in this show. Griffin showed that he cares for Carly, but Carly goes nuts over Griffin's hobby. It teaches kids that if you are a boy and you like a girly or childish thing then you aren't a man. It also teaches girls to only like real men who are jerks, bad seeds, and are not sensitive. Just what were they thinking with this?! While this isn't as bad as the iMeet Fred episode, and has a couple of funny moments like Spencer trying to figure out why Sam was dreaming of soup it's not enough for me to see this episode again. Pass this one up if you can.

What I liked: "I may be stupid, but I'm not dumb", Freddie losing out money after Sam sells her website, because he tore up the contract, Carly and Griffin pretending to hate each other so they could get some privacy, Sam's 'soup monster' plot, amongst other things.

Pretty good. The reason Carly and Griffin break up is pretty stupid, and it's not right for Carly to judge Griffin because of his 'pee-wee' babies, but overall this was decent I thought. C+/B- or so as my final grade
  • I love how they only curse withing PG level but are still allowed to make out and set horrible examples in this episode.

So they make this show for young kids, right? Cursing is not appropriate but you can still have violence, steal motorcycles [and get away with it :D], make out when you're 13 even if your guardian tells you not to, get together with someone because of the bad-boy character they have and dump them because they're (oh no!) a little interesting, strange or have what you call a flaw. Oh and the ShamPow thing... can't they make up their own invention and be creative with it or something? I'm just glad Spencer can act and make things a bit funny. Unusual ending: sweet, dear Carly insults her now formal boyfriend by making fun of him and doesn't even apologize. But it explains a lot since the only reason she got together with him is because of his bad-boy personality; Griffin did something out of his character that Carly liked so much... I wish the real world was that predictable and stereotypical. KIDS: don't watch that! ADULTS: don't let your kids watch that! This episode is safe to watch when you understand how wrong it is and can make fun of it :]

iCarly, the master of the TV movie, gave us a very good one here tonight. Most of the members of the TV community did not really enjoy it, but I loved it. From the monster dreams, to the beanie babie parody in Pee Wee Babies it was just a lot of laughs tonight.

Granted, Carly Shay maybe should not have been so shallow as to break up with him because he played with stuffed animals, but should she have gone out with him just because she liked his face in the first place? The double standard goes both ways. I think people also need to just relax and enjoy the show. If you take iCarly too seriously, yes, you will find some flaws in the logic and some bad examples. But it is just a TV show, just sit back and laugh.

Let me just say, the only reason I tuned into this episode was because it was hyped up. I was curious to see what Carly's boyfriend was hiding. But just like that iLook Alike special, I shouldn't have tuned in. It was another big disappointment from iCarly. Why? First of all, the plot was unoriginal and had been used in almost every tween show out there! Again, Spencer gave into Carly, which really made me angry. But I thought it was OK until Carly discovered that her new boyfriend began collecting Pee-Wee toys, which I'm assuming were a parody of Beanie Babies. So as soon as Carly discovers that he's collecting them, she wants to break up with enough! Oh my god! Why? Just because he's collecting something that she does not think is manly! To her, manliness means power tools and motorcycles. So what she's basically saying is that if there's one flaw in a relationship, she should automatically break up with her boy, and over a stupid reason like that! I told my Dad what happened in this episode, and he was really angered by that. He told me, "Well, I'm not into any of that. So does that make me unmanly?" It doesn't make him unmanly, heck it doesn't make any boy unmanly if they're not into that stuff! And on top of that, Carly and Sam begin to make fun of him! Worst of all, no one apologized! That pissed me off! If anything, I would've expected Carly to say she was sorry to him, but no! Instead, all she said was, "Yeah," after Sam said, "He's leaving." That dialogue has been used so many times! The girls really acted so shallow. I mean, OK, so maybe it seems a tad babyish to collect those kind of toys, but if someone's into that stuff, I'd be fine with it! I wouldn't care. But Carly cared! Come on! If she liked everything else about him, and there was just that one piece wrong, that is no reason to break up with him! I mean, me and my friends don't agree or like the same things, so should I stop being friends with them because of that? No, I should not and I will not. But she shouldn't have been upset over that anyway! Plus, this is a terrible example for little girls and little boys. What it teaches girls is that it's OK to break up with a guy if he's into what people consider "girly stuff" or has a soft side to him. And what it teaches boys is that if you like Beanie Babies, or something else that's kinda girly, then you're not manly! Both of those lessons are totally wrong. Everybody likes different things and nothing materially defines you as a man or a woman. There was one good thing that came out of this episode and it was the ShamWow parodies. Those made me laugh. So in conclusion, I hated this episode. I thought it was shallow and a horrible example for kids. The next time Nick hypes up an iCarly episode, I'm not gonna tune into it, no matter how much it's hyped up, unless a lot of people say it's good. My final grade for this episode is an F-! Teen_Tomboy out!
  • Talk about setting a good example!

This started out the normal iCarly way. It was funny, Spencer (started to) prove he could be a good parent, and Sam was doing something completley strange. I know this is supposed to be about dating a bad boy and stuff, but since when is Carly so shallow. She's supposed to be the down to Earth, stick up for the little guy, type of girl. What happened to the sweet, nice Carly that we've grown to like.? I'll tell you what happened. She turned into a shallow, cold hearted, 'witch'. Just because a guy likes something that some people consider girly, doesn't mean you have to break up with him. Griffen was a really great guy that obviously cared about Carly a lot. I wouldn't put it past Sam to make fun of him, but for Carly to join in is just wrong. I'm glad they broke up, because Griffen deserves someone better than that. Maybe he can meet someone that isn't so shallow at one of those Pee Wee Baby conventions.
  • My gut still hurts from laughing

This episode was one the funniest yet. T-Bo made his second appearance on the show and now i see why Dan talks about awsome he is on his twitter alot. Both side plots were also really funny. And Spencer's overreaction to Carly dating was hilarious. I also love how this episode showed Spencers protective side, which they seem to be doing alot in recent episodes and i say two thumbs up for that. Though Carly seemed a little shallow through out the episode, not just because she broke up with him over his collection but because it seemed like the only reason she liked him was because he was a bad boy. Ironic since that was the same reason she hated him in the begining of the episode. But anyways, do to all of the rolling on the floor with laughter, I give this episode a 10 out of 10
  • It had some funny moments, but it was too drawn out and kinda stupid.

    7.0
    "Good"
Overall, this movie was ok. A few good points have been made from other reviewers. First of all, this show was too drawn out. We could have done just fine without all the subplots, although the whole subplot with Spencer trying to analyze Sam's dream was kind of funny and one of the few times I laughed. Also, I picked on some sexual innuendo in this one. One time being the part where Carly reminds Spencer that he wanted to buy something at a drugstore, but we don't get to hear what. The whole thing with Carly not wanting to stay with Griffin because of his collecting pee-wee babies or whatever they're called was kind of stupid. You should never judge people for what they have. I also though the ending could have been better. Why did the end have to revolve around that subplot? Well, that's it for now, I guess. Marebear2009, out!
  • Out of character, too long, OK humor.

    7.5
    "Good"
Ok, beginning with the plot, it's not too original since we've seen things like this nearly in every tween show, but the fact that Carly disliked Griffin at first was a good turn. I don't know If I feel 100% comfortable with so many make-out scenes, this is still Nickelodeon and a TV-Y7 rated show, but OK, we saw much more make-out sessions in Drake and Josh so I'll let that one pass by. Something that bothered me was the fact that it was an hour long. What was so "special" about it? I think they could have done the main episode idea just fine in normal length, instead, they filled it up with confusing 'B' plots that changed throughout the episode: first Freddie helps Sam build a website, then she sells it and anyone mentions it again. Then Spencer helps Sam with her dreams phobia, Ok, where did that come from? Although that was funny. And then the whole sham-wow thingy, which I found funny because we all take sham-pows as a joke.

But my number one concern about this episode was definitely Carly's reaction to the fact Griffin collects Pee Wee Babies. I mean, she was OK with dating a guy that stole motorcycles but made a HUGE deal about he collecting plushies? C'MON, that is a actually cute, I mean the plushies thing, if my boyfriend collected Beany babies I would think it was sweet, not have a freak out like a crazy.

Overall, nothing very special about the special. It had funny moments, but I didn't love the outcome.
  • Doesn't deserve to be an hour.

    8.0
    "Great"
Still it was a good episode, I didn't think that it deserved to be an hour. he kissing scenes between Carly & Griffin were hot. Who knew that a kids show has a lot of make out scenes. Part 1 of this episode was way better than part 2. I love Spencer acting like a dad. Carly tricking him was way out of line. The side plots were good too. Sam going behind Carly's back to make her own website. What a trader. Carly sneaking around? That is not the Carly we know & love. Griffin collecting stuffed animals was a stupid reason to break up with him. Carly should of stayed with him but whatever.
  • Not as great as I thought it would be... but still an improvement.

    7.0
    "Good"
After a guy named Griffin steals Spencer's motorcycle Spencer forgives him and shows him around the house and tries to make him build a sculpture. After Spencer goes out to get smoothies, I loved it when that guy was trying to give bagels to Spencer and Spencer had to wait for an hour to get them. While Spencer was getting bagels and smoothies Carly starts to get along with Griffin and starts kissing with him alot. Spencer starts to get angry with Carly and Griffin getting along and he doesn't want Carly to be with him. Later on she tricks Spencer to get a movie and while he's gone she hangs out with her boyfriend, Spencer finds out and just leaves them alone. Carly goes to Griffins house later in the movie and finds out he collects pee-wee babies that are usually for girls, I must say that wasn't a really a shocking secret. So Carly and Sam make fun of griffin and he breaks up with Carly, and Carly was fine with that. 7/10
  • Great Episode!

    9.5
    "Superb"
This was the first 1 hour episode, It was really funny. I also think it wasn't that appropriate for younger kids. It felt like 2 episodes, because they had 2 sub plots like in the first half hour, they had Freddie making Sam a website and in the other half they had the Sham wow thing and Sam's dream about the soup and monster. I thought the shocking secret was kinda lame, but it was still funny. There needed to be more Sam and Freddie! I also liked that Freddie still has a crush on Carly. So overall great episode!!
  • loved it

    "Perfect"
why are people giving this "movie" such bad reviews? i thought this episode was great. it was really funny too. i never would have guessed his secret. but i must admit the secret is really stupid. the parts with sam and spencer about the monster soup was hilarious, probably the funniest part of the episode. i also thought the bagel thing at the groovy smoothie was funny. this was just as good as iGo to japan, maybe even better. after watching this episode, i can not wait for other icarly movies. they will probably be as good as this one.
  • Summary: Carly falls in love with a bad boy until she finds out he has a quirky hobby and then she becomes rediculously shallow.

    2.5
    "Terrible"
Review: The episode started out strongly enough with typical, cute iCarly-typical humor. It had such good potential with Spencer going all over protective and a badboy with the possibility of being really interesting. And then he DID get really interesting. He had an extra, quirky, cute side that made him human and a little more three dimensional, and what do Carly and the gang do? They make fun of him! This is the kind of situation where (traditionally) the popular, superficial bullies at school are supposed to make fun of the former bad boy, and the heros of the show are supposed to defend him, even if they do think it's a little weird. Now, I understand wanting to break traditional, cliche TV plots, and doing something "fresh", but I never would have thought the day would come when the shallow, superficial kids would be the show's protagonists. What's more, they stayed that way to the end. No realizing how mean they were, and no appologies. They acted really shallow and remained that way. Now, like it or not, these fiction TV characters are rolemodels to the TV raised children who watch them, and it is sending a stupid message. It's okay to want to dump somebody because they have a quirk? To be "manly" you can only be into motocycles, powertools, and can't have a soft spot? These are the types of attitudes most people do NOT want to condone.

The only bit of silver lining here is that the bad boy realized how superficial Carly was and dumped HER rather than the other way around. But the episode could have been phenomenally better if they had jut cut one of the running gags (such as the bagles or ShamPow) and used the time for an apology out of Carly. They could have turned the bad boy into a show regular, as Carly's steady boyfriend, or at least a good friend. He lives in her appatment. He doesn't go to her school. Such a great opportunity for some fresh show plot and to actually given the characters development. But now I'm just back seat writing, so I'll leave it at this. Way to go, writers. It takes guts to make your protagonists so shallow. -__-
  • This made the show WORSE

I'm a boy, and I think this episode was horrible.

Icarly sucked to begin with, now, this episode made it worse. The last icarly movie was horrid, they could atleast made this episode decent, but that diden't happen.

So the episode goes like this. Carly meets this boy named Griffin. He steals stuff and acts tough. Then carly starts to like him, blah blah blah blah blah, and at the end Carly dumps Griffin. Why you say? Because Griffin has a collection of Pee-wee toys. Collection Pee-wee toys was griffin's hobby for a while now, and because of his little hobby, carly decides to dump him. And at the end, the b!tch dosen't even decide to say sorry, she just says "Yeah..." after sam said hes leaving. Well, that sucked. This series is going more downhill every episode. Cancel it already.
  • That was terrible! Worst Episode, TV movie, and Mess-up of Icarly.

Ok, this was awful. Ok, I missed the first 8 min. of it but I think this was what happend. Some guy steals Spencer's Motocycle. and instead of arresting him he rings him home. Spence goes out for a smothie, but when he comes home He find Griffin and Carly kissing... alot. Then, Carly is so in love with him intil She finds out that he has A Pee-Wee Babies collection. So she wants to dump him. When Griffin overhears Carly making fun of him. He says "We're though... DONE! Odd way to end a movie. Just breaking up. Carly was really rude in this episode. All because of some collection Griffin finds interesting, Carly wants to dump him. Plus, Where's the ending. They coulda at least made it longer by Carly apoligizing to Griffin. I didn't like this episode.
  • a terrible episode

well, now i know icarly's true colors, this show is awful. and this episode is the last straw. What are we showing these kids, when we try to convince them what is supposed to be the definition of manly? So what if the guy is a little infatuated with a child's toy? It shouldnt matter in the long run i could go on and on on that but that may be a little over kill so lets go on to the power drill present. Apparently that is supposed to be the clay cut guy, has to be interested in tools and cars i truly thought that our civilization was above such meaningless gender typing but hey what ever. some might actually find it funny but i think its just sad boo on you icarly, boo
  • Pretty good, but they added way too much "adult" content.

    6.0
    "Fair"
I don't like the way they added that much "content" in this episode, it makes it seem more "adult" oriented, rather than a 6-12 year old audience. Drake & Josh was bad enough with the kissing scenes in almost every episode. If they're going to add kissing scenes to every show, there will be nothing for the **children** to watch that won't be "sexualized" (if you will). There were at least 15-25 kissing in the **1** hour movie. That's a lot of kiss. They also influence crimes, like at the beginning of the movie, the guy steals Spencer's motorcycle and gets arrested. Very Funny though, that's the only positive side.
