Gotta agree JengoFett6 this episode gave a bad message to children by telling them if you are intrested in doing something that you shoulvd give up because of one persons bad opinion. For example, do you THINK Dan Scnider gives up with some bad reviews on here- NO!!!! So this episode just gave a bad lesson.
This may be the most popular teen show on Nickelodeon but it's the most popular teen show on Nickelodeon giving out bad messages to kids all around the world
Okay, what were the writers thinking? To everyone, this is the most popular teen show ever. I would have if this show was good. I only consider "iCarly" an okay show and if it really was the most popular show on Nick... I would have really liked it and more people would have really liked it. How can this show be popular and yet have some viewers that hate this show so much. Anyways, the writers just gave out a bad message to everyone. Spencer giving up art after his favorite art idol Harry Joyner criticized his art. Okay, shouldn't a popular show have good messages... really?. It's episodes like these that make me think,,, why is this show popular? there's way funnier and more better shows than this. Spencer giving up art in this episode is teaching kids to give up. Kids, do not give up on your dreams... this show doesn't know how to set up good messages so if you're reading this review kids, do not give up or listen to anything that this show says. I also didn't like Mrs. Benson in this episode (now that you think about it, I don't like Mrs. Benson in most of the episodes). While I really didn't enjoy this episode that much, I thought there were some funny parts. The clown in the bra was funny and there were a couple more I found funny as well. Also, the giant teeth sculpture that Spencer and Harry Joyner made together was really cool. Overall, this was just a mediocre episode of "iCarly" giving a bad message to kids. 5/10
This was Spencer episode. He was told by his art idol that his sculptures we're not so good . So he got depressed and quit. For some reason he became an dental assistant. It was funny to see how Carly contacted the crazy English artist to pursuede him to talk to Spencer about giving up his art all together. She even showed all of the art pieces online and they got good reactions. Later they we're in the dentist room and Spencer got sprayed water in his face regularly. Then the artist told Spencer that his work was so creative and he was jealous of him.
First, I need to say that there are SPOILERS in this review. If you haven't seen it, and are interested in seeing it, I recommend that you watch the episode first. let me go on the record by saying that I do enjoy this show. It's funny, entertaining and I certainly enjoy seeing Mary Scheer in a semi-regular role, as I enjoyed her work on Mad TV. However, this episode just bothered me. Was it because of Spencer's annoying behavior? Mostly, but there's something more than simply his behavior. What is it then? It sends a terrible message to children.
Spencer has a passion for art and creates some interesting, creative and incredibly weird sculptures. Carly thinks it would be a good idea to get Spencer's idol (Harry Joiner) to critique his art. In a stroke of incredible luck, he actually shows up in person. However, he says Spencer's art is amateurish at best. Hearing this, Spencer immediately gives up on his dream, even though, when Carly displays Spencer's art on her web show, THOUSANDS of other people say his art is awesome. He refuses to even read the comments unless one is from Joiner. He completely gives up and gets a job as a dental assistant. Carly then tells Joiner that he made Spencer give up on his dream, so Joiner then tells Spencer that he thought his art was brilliant, and only said otherwise because he was jealous. Spencer immediately starts making art again and even gets to make a sculpture with Joiner.
Now, you MAY be asking, "What's the bad message the episode sends?". Well, it shows an adult giving up on his dream completely because of ONE person's negative opinion. This could easily confuse children into thinking that if just a few people don't like whatever your talent may be, then it means you're no good and that you should give up UNLESS those people who have negative opinions reveal that they're only jealous of you and actually like you. Unfortunately, no matter what you do or how well you do it, there are ALWAYS going to people that dislike it. However, there will also ALWAYS be people who DO like it. If you're doing something that you like, you can't get hung up on every single negative opinion of you. Your opinion of yourself should NEVER hinge upon other's opinions of you. You gotta keep going and keep doing what you love. Never give up just because some people tell you you're no good, no matter who it is! Even if it's the person who inspired you to do what you're doing. Thank you for reading. Spencer's art idol, Harry Joiner, comes to visit and he is harsh to him on his art, saying it is mediocre at best. This of course hurts Spencer so much he gives up artistry and becomes a dental assistant. Carly tracks down Joiner and tells him what has happened. Harry Joiner then goes to see Spencer, and admits that he said Spencer's work was bad because it is better then anything he had done in a long time, and so he was jealous.
An interesting episode. Kinda sad at some parts but it had a good plot and was pretty well-done
This episode goes into my tope 3 favorites too. I really liked how Carly was trying everything to help out Spencer, especially when his dreams were crushed by Harry Joiner. Carly went out of her way and helped out her brother in the best way she could until her plan was a success.
Even though he crushed Spencer's dreams, Harry Joiner was a great role in this episode. He said he didn't like Spencer's creations when he really loved them and was just jealous because Spencer's work was better than anything Harry did in years.
But it the end, all is forgotten and Harry and Spencer work together to make one fantastic sculpter for the local dentist. An episode I really enjoyed watching.
I loved the Sam and Freddie moments with Freddie egging Sam on with his quirky personality and home life, wow imagine having to sign to say that you shampooed twice?, he really wants her to insult him so he can get some money and poor Sam is so trying her hardest not to insult him. She actually lasted longer then I expected her to, I am impressed. Poor Spencer, having his confidence shattered by that famous artist, I laughed when he was lying on the table and then fell off as Carly was trying to get him off it and then tickled him. Good thing he has a great little sister who would stop at noting to cheer him up.
geez... i didnt like dis episode. spencers hero says his work sucks (its not that bad really) so spencer goes emo and all adultish and gets a job as a dental assistant. boring! sam and freddy have a bet that if sam insults freddy freddy gets five bucks an insult. carly gets spencers hero (harry joyner) and harry admits that he was jeolous of spencers work and spencer and harry work on a sculptor together for 1,000 dollars! lucky! spencer gives sam 40 bucks so sam can insult freddy. there was just something i didnt like about this episode. plz view my profle!
carly thinks she's doing a good thing by bringing spencer's idol to critique his art, but when he calls it amateur spencer is willing to give up on art; meanwhile, sam can't insult freddie for a whole week
this ep wasnt bad in like the story and everything but the only thing that really made it painful to watch, which i classified it as, was the fact that spencer was so bummed out..no matter what carly did he was bummed and couldnt be talked out of it..i felt so so horrible for him and then when he got a real job im like oh my gosh..poor thing..im glad carly worked it out in the end but it was still hard to see him sad..and the funny part of the ep was sam not being able to insult freddie but freddie keeps setting her up to do so..she doesnt take the bait until she gets money on her..then its even funnier..and mrs. benson babysitting carly..yikes!
"iHeart Art" has to be one of my favorite episodes of iCarly so far.iWant a World Record was my favorite. This episode really gave me a good laugh."Spencer its been 4 hours.U need to get off the kitchen table" "Why?Is Santa Cklaus here to tell me im ugly and have no friends?" lol one of my favorite iCarly lines EVER.Spencers Sculptures in this episode were the funniest and best ive seen out of him in the series.Espiecailly the Nose Tree one XD.I noticed Freddies voice changed at the end of the episode.I like that voice better,Keep using that Nathan! 10/10 One of the best
I thought, like all of the other episodes too, that this episode was fantastic. This really had a great plot and like the other episodes, they knew just when to throw in some comedy even in the more serious and dramatic scenes. But I really liked the end when Spencer's all time favorite artist tells him that he's jealous of Spencer's work and he loves them. I thought that was the perfect scene right there. I still might not count this as one of my favorite episode, but this comes as a very close second. And I hope to see episodes just as great as this episode in the near future.
Carly gets Spencer's idol, Harry Joiner, to come look at his creations. When Joiner says that they're not good, Spencer is crushed and decides to quit art and become a dental assistant. Now it's up to Carly, Sam and Freddie to confront Joiner. Sam and Freddie make a bet that Sam can't insult Freddie for a week and if she does, it's $5 an insult. Joiner comes back to Spencer and tells him that he was actually jealous of his sculptures.
This episode was great! It was really funny with Freddie's insult set-ups and Spencer's screams. I give this episode a 10 out of 10!
