While former load count champion, Ray Veilleux, returns to the Dalton in attempt to prove he still has what it takes, Jack Jessee and Darrell Ward must race against time to deliver the final load to Nuiqsut before the road is closed. On the Dempster, Alex must use an extra large trailer in order to haul all remaining supplies, but high winds in hurricane could spell disaster. Keen to hang on to his load count lead, Darrell rises early, only to be thwarted by a wreck. While the DOT scrambles to reopen the Dalton, Austin wakes up on the north slope after ending up in a ditch and Jack wakes up in Coldfoot. Meanwhile, Porkchop is right back in Fairbanks, after being pulled off the road. Things aren't looking much better on the Dempster, the storm that recently ravaged the Dalton is headed for the Yukon. Alex races the weather to make it south and back before the road shuts down. Meanwhile in Manitoba, the warm condition of the winter roads have made driving nearly impossible for Hugh and Rick, with a load of two huge cement trucks.moreless
In Canada, Hugh and Rick haul water tanks to the remote community of St. Theresa Point, but must cross newly-formed ice. In Alaska, while Porkchop is summoned to see the boss, a huge storm hits the Dalton, causing problems for veterans and rookies alike.
Time is running out in Alaska to complete the oil rig move. Meanwhile in Canada, Alex is trapped between a river delta and a storm and Hugh and Hugh and Rick deliver their first load of the season to Winnipeg.
In Alaska, Jack tries to mentor an impatient Austin during the oil rig move, while Darrell and Porkchop find out if they passed their training runs. Meanwhile in Canada, Hugh and Rick search for missing trailers and Alex drives on the Arctic Ocean.
The 2012 dash for the cash again takes place in two locations. In Manitoba, Canada, veterans Alex Debogorski, Hugh Rowland and Rick Yemm battle Yukon's Dempster Highway to deliver to the northernmost settlements. In Alaska, Haul-road Ace Jack Jessee returns with three rookies, Darrell Ward, Austin Wheeler and Ron Mangum. In this, the busiest season in Carlile's history, drivers will continue past Prudhoe Bay and on to the remote oil fields of the North Slope.moreless
