Episode Summary

EDIT
Alan is asked to present a sales conference for Dante's of Reading, a company which specialises in fireplaces. He also has a book signing at Norwich railway station (which unsurprisingly goes badly).

After forgetting his security pass for Choristers Country Club, Alan tries to climb over the fence and skewers his foot on a spike. Alan tries to host the conference, but due to losing over a pint of blood, it goes even more badly than his book signing.moreless

  • Painful to watch, but incredibly funny.

    9.3
Alan Partridge is one of the funniest comic creations in recent history.

In this episode, I howled with laughter and cringed with pain.

Alan's horror at Piet's South African pronunciation of 'You Can't', the revoltingly horrific foot on a spike and his reply to Lynn's suggestion of letting her do the presentation; "Lynn, you culdn't present... a cat!" are pure gems!

And Michael's Apache helicopter fantasy is one of the sweetest and oddest monologues of the series and cracks me up every time.

One of the best things about this second series in my mind is the addition of the multi-talented Amelia Bulmore as the slightly derranged Sonja. Her scatter love-cushions and Alan/Cat mugs are superb.
