I'm Not A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here!

Show Summary

Following the tremendous success of I'm A Celebrity: Get Me Out Of Here!, in which celebrities live in the jungle for 2 weeks to raise money for charity, ITV is planning a similar version of the show, where ordinary members of the British public join the jungle, expected to air in early 2005.

Although there will be similarities to the unpopular Survivor (UK), the format will closely follow that of the original programme, with the public deciding who should endure Bushtucker trials for the first week of the show, and then deciding who should stay in camp in the second week.

  • A really funny reality show.

This was a pretty good reality television series. As is normal with good television shows, this one did not last long enough. This is a show that I would suggest watching if you get the chance. Check the bargain bins at Wal-Mart, the online movies sites (Amazon.com and such) and all of the cable channels that run old shows. Nick at Nite and TV Land are great for theses kind of shows. They will even do a week long spot for shows that only had 6 or so episodes. Then you have your super stations. They run a bunch of old shows too. All in all a pretty good show that did not get a good enough chance. Sometimes it is a simple as the show it is up against. Look at Law & Order. It is one of the longest running shows on TV. They moved it to go up against Lost. After about 2 weeks of getting pounded in the ratings it was moved back to it's original time slot. Shows like this should be given more of an opportunity.moreless
  • Bad idea makes a good show!!!

    6.0
When I saw the first trailer for "I'm a Celebrity...", I was really turned off. I'd seen "Big Brother" and other reality shows, which, in general, I hate, and was absolutely bored stiff.

The trailer was a cartoon plane with the celebrities faces in every window, flying to Australia and dropping them all out.

It sounds like the worst t.v. idea in the world and a total lack of inspiration, and it is.

However, somehow, I feel good watching it. I am a Psychology student, but I'm only in my first year, so a can't really give you a technical reason for it. Maybe it is crap and I just watch it for the self-esteem from feeling that watching it makes me part of the group, but I doubt it. Everyone watches BB apart from me, it stinks!

I think it's great because it affirms the greatness of human beings. All you hear about on the news now is people killing each other, from muggers beating old women, to some Muslim-fundamentalist losers bombing our soldiers.

Here, however, we see human beings from grim, tough northern comics to southern socialites, from born-again Christians, to Buddhists, via Mormons, all working together, getting along as a unit and just making do with each other, because each other is all they've got.

That's why it works for me. It makes you realise what the world is really like if you ignore the media liars.

It makes you be glad to be a human.moreless

For the week of April 27-May 3: Season finales are coming this week, with Chuck leading the way. Will it be a series finale also? Things get explained in Lost, finally, and NCIS shows off its spinoff team.

NBC is stranding "celebs" in a jungle

NBC is continuing its quick trajectory towards VH1 standards (which is probably more offensive to VH1 these days) with the announcement of the partial list of celebrities participating in the revamp of I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of…
