      • Liz: A truly great coach doesn't have to call himself one. And generally, has a less fragile ego.
Takeshi: Is that another Confucius thing?
Liz: You know what, it's actually more of a common sense thing.
        Takeshi: Yeah, good call.

      • Liz: Let's just remember what Confucius said, "Having made a mistake, not to correct it is a mistake indeed."
Takeshi: What does that even mean?
Liz: It means you gotta be a team player.
Takeshi: Sorry, Liz, I don't think I need any advice from a dead dude.
Liz: I'll take a dead genius over a live idiot any day!

    • NOTES (7)

      • The song heard during the closing credits is called "Strings" by Joe Boyd Vigil. It has been heard in several Toonami promos/intros in the past.

      • The following six teams will be competing in the IG-1 league:

        Team Satomi
        Team Black Egg
        Team Edgeraid
        Team Skylark
        Team Sledge Mamma
        Team Velshtein

Out of these teams, Team Velshtein is the current defending champion.

      • The characters are variations of the ones that appeared in the original microseries. Most of the names have been slightly changed including Takeshi Noah who is now Takeshi Jin, Major Hamgra is now Sir Hamgra, Yammer, Timmer & Dimmer are now Yamma, Timma & Dimma. Suzaku, Himawari and U-Matsu were completely renamed and are now known as Mitsuko Satomi, Jesse Martin and Mark Ramsey.

      • In the original mini-series, mechs strategically battled in an arena. In the new series, mechs actually race on a 60-mile track called "The Big Eye."
