    You have probably seen commercials for "Important Things to Demetri Martin" while you were watching better television programming. This show is still worth your viewing time though.



    Demetri Martin combines the goofiness of Andy Samberg, and the acute observational skills of Jerry Seinfeld into this fast-moving half hour variety show. Important Things ran through about 10 sketches within minutes and utilized both animation and live-action for a truly unique experience.



    Comedy Central had weekly shows with David Spade and David Alan Grier recently, but young Demetri Martin proved tonight that he is just as funny as those veteran comics. The pilot episode is flawed, but this show is still very entertaining.moreless

    I was very excited about this show when I first heard about it because I was a big fan of Demetri's ever since I saw his Comedy Central stand-up special "Demetri Martin. Person." And this show, with the exception of some of the sketches, actually lived up to my expectations.



    I was surprised that they could get Amanda Peet for this first episode. That movie sketch was definitely the best one so far.



    My only complaint is that this needs more stand-up because that is why I became a fan of Demetri's in the first place. I only hope that we get that as well as more of the LARGE PAD and more music by Demetri in later episodes.moreless

    As others, I was fan of Demetri since his comedy central special, and I bought one of his CDs. The truth is that Demetri is a very funny guy, but I think the acted scenes are not his forte. The only flaws I can find in the first episode are these two: "A Guy who is way too early for a Rave" and "WHAT: Slam Poet Champion" sketches. But although I think these sketches were bad, those were only two of Ten parts of the whole show, which is pretty good.



    Demetri is a guy with an unbelievable observation capacity and I think we just have to wait and see the show grow up a bit (evolve, develop, you get the point).



    I agree with others here, this show needs more stand up and large pad sections. This show has the potential to be way better than "other shows", but just the TIME will tell us :). This Episode feels like an 8 to me.moreless
