This episode hit home for me. I could give many examples of similar relationships taken right out of my own life. Couples together for religious reasons and not willing to divorce for the church or their children. So they stay together making everyone miserable.

It did occur to me that the burned body was not Donald immediately so that was a downer for this episode. I thought the acting was believable and my experience agrees with the way the people acted in general. The cook was obviously going to be the main suspect as we saw him early on paying a lot of attention to Ruth. There was no jealousy on Donald's part he really just wanted to see Ruth happy.

The other two plots were central to Mary's family. Brandi is obviously trying to connect with something new unfortunately it is with Mary's boyfriend. Luckily Raphael really seems to care for Mary and does not want to hurt her in any way.

I was happy to see Jinx finally decide to try out for that part in the show. It is never too late to at least try to follow your dream. Regret is a wasted emotion. Good for her.

This episode was a little of a let down after the last two but I enjoyed it just the same. This is a great series and I am looking forward to the rest of this seasons shows and the second season coming up in a little more than a week.

    Thanks for reading...moreless

  • Interesting, Charitable, Poignant

    "Superb"
This was an interesting episode, and sadly a story that was told far too often on TV shows. Devout Catholics can't divorce no matter how much they hate eachother. I like this one though, because it shows just how far someone will go in order to get around laws and regulations and whatnot. Which of course, is what makes most people do crazy insane things anyway. So Don fakes his own death in order to get out of his marriage. This is an interesting episode because the characters are so charitable. Both of them are terrific, they just aren't terrific together. I love the way it all works out in the end. A very poignant episode.moreless

  • A very Confusing Episode but very good at the same time.

So this episode was about a married couple Donald and Ruth who were not happy together. They have tried everything but things were not looking good.

They did not want to get a divorce as they were Catholic and did not agree with divorce so even though they were unhappy they decided to stay together.

That is till Donald faked his death and mixed everyone up including Ruth who though that he was dead.

Donald faked his death so that he can leave his wife and let her move on and be happy with her life.

In my opinion Raphael did the right thing when he decided to stop contact with Mary's siter as things were heating up and as he loves Mary he did not want to complicate things.moreless

  • Mary has to deal with a married couple who can't stand each other but refuse to divorce and a strange situation brewing at home.

In this episode Mary has to deal with a married couple who are deeply religious and do a lot for their community. The only problem is that they hate each other but are bound by the bonds of holy matrimony. They are so devout that they can't even consider the possibility of divorce. They become members of the WITSEC program when the husband is thought to have died in a car crash. Investigating the car crash brings up more questions and its up to Mary and Marshall to find out what happened to him. Meanwhile in her personal life, Mary has to deal with her strained relationship with her boyfriend Raf after she rejects his proposal, and her sister's burgeoning relationship with Raf. The episode wasn't bad, but it wasn't up to par with the other episodes for me. I guess that I was hoping for more Mary/Marshall stuff, but it was probably because she was still dealing with her relationship with Raf. Personally, I think that there's more chemistry between Raf and Mary's sister. Hope to see more laughs and more Mary/Marshall sparks next episode.moreless
