In Plain Sight is back after a year off the air. The show still is sticking with that dark and grainy camera and a less funny nature than we saw the first two years, but hey, it popped a huge number for USA Network, so they have to be happy about that. We had an interesting case here, but they did not even really address the conclusion. It was more about the kind of annoying relationship between Mary and Brandi that dominated most of this episode. I think that In Plain Sight is at its best when it actually operates as a standard procedural, not Mary narrating the lives of other people, Grey's Anatomy style.

This was an okay start to the season, but the show needs to be edgier and bring back that light-hearted style. Think Burn Notice and Covert Affairs as examples of shows that do that well.moreless
