  • Novel episode with a good section for Stan, shame the FBI agent was based off a european salesperson the writer recently met.

Whilst I am slowly getting more disappointed with the season with the reduction in quality time and personal character development. This was a good one. Finally we're seeing more personnel in the WITSEC office. It was hard enough to accept only three people in the office with so many "I've got a security detail outside" lines in various episodes. The Stan sections were great as Paul really holds the scene and uses it well.

The FBI agent role was horrificly done, whilst there's probably agents like that, I really felt I was watching a european salesperson rather than someone who actually did investigating for a living. Considering this guy is a replacement for the very talented Todd Williams character, its so disappointing.moreless

I gave up on this show during its second season. It's not that it was bad. I mean Mary McCormack was made to play this role, and Fred Weller is great as her counterpart, but it just wasn't good enough for me to choose it over all the other shows that it was up against on Sunday night. Now that it's on Wednesdays the competition is a little less stiff, but I still am not watching.

I decided to check out a rerun at 10 AM on Sunday, and it had its moments, but I am afraid it is still just a generic cop show and nothing more.moreless
  • Stan deals with a ex boxer who is suffering from years of hits. Mary and Marshal take on the FBI to get a gu and his family into WITSEC.

In the beginning of the episode, when Marshal sees that Mary isn't wearing her engagement ring, I love the look on his face. It was priceless. The only part that was better was in the car when she tells him that she and Raff broke up. (Sweet). Virbally Impotent?! I love it!!!

I had nothing against Raff, but I never liked them together.

I was happy to see Steven Weber. I loved him in Wings. His character wasn't very warm and fuzzy, but he did it well. And what was it with him calling Mary 'kitten'? I mean, seriously?!

    Overall, loved the episode!

    (Marshal soooo loves Mary)moreless

    • Marshall So, why did you and Raph break up?
Mary Because he's a beautiful, sweet, sensitive man who adored me.
      Marshall Yeah. Who wants that?
      Mary Exactly.

    • Marshall: Why aren't you wearing your engagement ring?
Mary: Raph and I broke up. I said no silence.
      Marshall: Right. So, um...
Mary: Oh, my God. Marshall, you're killing me.
Marshall: I really don't know what to say.
Mary: Now? Now you don't know what to say? For seven years, I get a combo-geyser of Wikipedia, Jeopardy, Star Trek, Dead Poet Society and Carnac The Magnificent. And now, the, the one time I need a steady stream of useless, numbing babble, I get car sounds.
Marshall: Well, when did you two break up?
Mary: No, no, no, no. No questions. Anyone can do questions. I want pointless quotes, useless trivia, the downpour of idiocy you've practically patented. Come on, it's a twenty-minute car trip. I don't want to think about my life, okay? Amaze me, annoy me, distract me. Is that so much to ask?
Marshall: This is so weird. I... I... I... got... I got nothin'.
Mary: Oh, my God, you're... you're verbally impotent.

    • Agent Faber: You need to know Mr. Donaldson hasn't completely agreed to all aspects of entering Witness Protection.
      Marshall: How not completely?
Agent Faber: Mr. Donaldson has no idea he even needs to be in Witness Protection.
Mary: What have you been telling him the last three years?
Agent Faber: What he needed to know then. You tell him what he needs to know now. Isn't that your job, kitten? (he walks away)
      Mary: Kitten?
      Marshall: Jackass.
