Gary captures Kieren, believing that he and Simon are planning an attack on the villagers. Meanwhile, Simon must decide whether to kill Kieren to bring about the Second Rising or save him.
Kieren sheds his contact lenses and cover-up mousse in public for the first time, but he is wrongly accused of freeing the rabids at the GP surgery and hauled in front of the tyrannical parish council.
Kieren asks Simon to try and be a normal person rather than a disciple of the Undead Prophet, with surprising results. Meanwhile, Jem goes back out on patrol with Gary, while Maxine learns about Phillip's visits to the brothel and blackmails him into lying to Sylvia about her missing son.
Kieren and ULA member Simon end up together on the PDS "Give Back" scheme, dealing with rabids at the surgery. Meanwhile, Freddie Preston has enough of living in the home of his ex-wife and her new husband, and sets out to win her back.
Maxine implements Victus' new PDS sufferer Give Back program, which involves forcing them to work for the community... and forbidding them from leaving. Meanwhile, Jem suffers from nightmares from her time with the HVL, and makes friends with one of her classmates.
Eighteen months after the Rising, the Undead Liberation Army takes drastic action against those they consider their oppressors. Meanwhile, in Roarton Valley things start to normalize for Kieren and his family... until the Victus political party rises to power and they send a MP, Maxine Martin, to the village to enforce her party's new policies toward the undead.moreless
