if you would have bothered to look at the summary for the series in the first page it says:
"In Treatment is based on a successful Israeli television series "

I did see the Israeli version, and I was hooked after second ep... BTW, in that version the actress that played Laura is Ayelet Zorer that played in the movies "MUNICH""and "Vintage Point" ,she is an amazing actress, I loved the couple's session the most, because the characters there, were so perfectly cast and they did such a wonderful job, that I felt like I see a real couple in life ,(so much so, that when she lost her baby I cried so much ,like it was mine own), saying that I can tell you that Sophie was my favorite as well,oh..what can I say I loved it all!! I loved everything about it and maybe some of the great/clever dialog was lost in translation... I think that the US version is also very well done and played, but since I've seen both,I have to agree that the original is better, or maybe it was such a new and fresh experience on tv series, that it felt like really something else that you never see before, and I could not wait each week for the series to continue, we had a reruns on Fridays of the 5 ep. from the whole week and I watched it as well...

well if what I wrote sounded somewhat rude I apologize. I'm Israeli too, and it sounded a bit desperate to me, to anounce the origin of the series in this way, and that made me feel uncomfortable. But I guess you are right, it's possible people out there don't actually know it's based on an Israeli TV show.
