  • Oliver Week Two.

I was going to say how Oliver never took the turtle back, but luckily In Treatment does not forget those plot holes and had Paul realize that it was still in the office. Perhaps a bit of foreshadowing as Oliver needs to be the center of attention even when he literally isn't there? We shall see.

I quite enjoyed this episode after being a bit disappointed by Sunday's second week sessions. This moved along smoothly and things got ever so intense when Luke and Bess came into the room, and even more so after Luke dropped the huge bombshell of his affair. Definitely looking forward to seeing how this storyline progresses next Monday night.moreless

    • Oliver: Right now we're reading this lame book called Lord of The Flies. Have you ever read it?
Paul: A long time ago. In what way do you find it lame?
Oliver: These kids crash on a deserted island and start doing mean things.
Paul: And you don't find that realistic?
Oliver: You don't need to crash on an island for kids to be mean.

    • Oliver: If I tell my mom, then she calls my dad, then they fight. And I don't want it to be my fault.
Paul: What don't you want to be your fault?
Oliver: If they get a divorce.

    • Oliver: Can you make my mom and dad happy?
Paul: What I can do is I can make communication between your mom, your dad and you a little better... But I can't make them happy.

    • Paul: (talking to Luke and Bess about Oliver) You know he believes the divorce is all his fault, and that's entirely natural. He also believes that if he behaves in a... particular way, it'll bring you two back together again. That's also a natural fantasy.

    • Paul: (to Luke and Bess) I don't think we're ever gonna figure out what's good or bad for Oliver if whenever either of you get upset, you end the session.

    • Oliver: I can never figure out what I need.
