Sunil - Week Five from the show In Treatment is about a recent widower, Sunil (Irrfan Khan), who travels from Calcutta to live with his son Arun (Samrat Chakrabarti) and his daughter-in-law Julie (Sonya Walger). When the combination of grief, new surroundings and resentment takes its toll on Sunil, the trio seeks out the help of psychotherapist Dr. Paul Weston (Gabriel Byrne).

    I do not like this Sunil character at all. He is just whining about things, and I do not think this was the right character to have on the show at all. I know what they were going for: they were trying to have a foreigner who struggles to adapt to the American lifestyle, but perhaps an illegal immigrant would have been the better avenue to pursue? Frankly, just about anything would have been the better avenue to pursue than this because this was another snoozer of an episode from In Treatment, even by the show's "rigorous" entertainment level of standards.moreless
