Episode Summary

EDIT
Shingo has challenged the Eight-Six driver to a Duct Tape Death Match and awaits his response. Takumi doesn’t seem interested, even when his friends explain the challenges to each other about the match. That seems to be the safe idea. Meanwhile, Itsuki calls up Saori for a date, and they go to Lake Akina. Shingo hasn’t heard back so he escalates the situation when he sees Itsuki’s Eight-Five driving down Mount Akina.moreless

      • (Thinking about Natsuki)
Takumi: I'm very conscious of her lately.

      • Takeshi: Shingo, I hear you're planning something big. Do what you want but don't do anything to insult the name of the Night Kids.
Shingo: (Laughs) Isn't it you who has insulted our name?
        Takeshi: What?!
Shingo: I wonder who lost to that obsolete 86 with a powerful 32? A loser should be off sulking somewhere. Still acting like a leader and giving me a lecture... you make me laugh. I'll avenge you, Nakazato. Be thankful. (Walks off)
Takeshi: (To himself) Shingo, someday you'll find out how fierce that 86 is.

      • DVD Vol. 5 Extra: In Search of Akagi Part 2
There's a brief video in English where two guys from the US travel the Gunma prefecture in search of Mount Akagi and the windy road that the Takahashi brothers race. They ask a toll booth guy, and he points him to one hilly road. Then they check with another guy who happens to know about the series, and he points them to a more inspirational road. They scope out a typical parking lot at the top of the hill and then one guy drives the downhill. Show footage is intermixed with the video.
