Inside Nextel Cup

Show Summary

This popular series debuted in 1996 with a "Wayne's World" style beginning. The goal has always been to allow NASCAR fans an inside look at the previous weekend's racing action, and an education from a driver's perspective. Throughout the years Phil Parsons, Johnny Benson, Michael Waltrip, Ken Schrader and Brian Vickers have all been expert panel members. Allen Bestwick hosted the show until Richmond 2005 when Dave Despain took over. Michael Waltrip, Ken Schrader and Brian Vickers (replaced Johnny Benson, Richmond 2005) provide expert analysis of on and off track action. **Note: This guide starts season 1 with the 2004 season when it became Inside Nextel Cup**

  • I love this show!!!!!!!!!

    10
This is diffently a must see show for any Real Nascar Fan..I watch the show faithfully every week. I feel each one on the show adds alittle different angle. It seems like I learn more each week about something I was totally unaware of about racing or the rules. Michael is awesome and such a great person. Dave adds control to the show, yet seems to have a sense of humor. I laugh more during this show then some so called comedy shows. It might be nice to have a few more different drivers on then just the few you have. Overall I love the show and will continue to be a faithful viewer.moreless
  • michael waltrip is a moron

    1.0
i watch this show pretty regularly, and for the life of me wonder why. dave despain is not half the host allen bestwick was, but the one thing that irritates me most is michael waltrip. he acts like the show is his and his alone. just one time i would love to see kenny schrader get up and knock the forty weight out of his hair. the guy has only won four races and acts like he is something special. i do not care who his sponsors are or how great safer barriers are. just review the race and keep your pointless comments to yourself, you frigging moron.moreless
  • If despain wants to ruin a show I wish it would be something besides Inside Nextel Cup. Love Mikey and the other guys, But for sure WOULD NOT miss despain.

I would like to start by saying that if I wanted towatch despain I would go over to the other show. Mikey, Ken, and Brian keep up the great work, and dont worry about kepping to the schedule somebody sets in the back if he was so good he woulod be out there to, but dont see that.Hopefully someone with some brains will read all of these comments and bring back Alan. The only reason that I keep watching the show is that Mikey and the guys keep it interesting.

Last thing let despain go back and worry about getting one show right.

  • More on the change.. new host + maybe new person on panel

    1.7
This show isn't the same. They ruined something that was fun and lively and something that people wanted to watch. We liked it because it was so comfortable and not so strict as it is today. They do not have the same chemistry as they had. They lost what made us love that show. I jumped ship. I haven't watched it since.
  • Bring back Allen

    5.9
Enjoyed the old relaxed format. Dave Despain tries too hard to keep the show on track. I enjoyed the way the show would go off course. It added an entertainment value to the program that is lacking now. There are plenty of NASCAR news shows that provide race recaps and information. Don't turn this into another "average" program. Bring back Allen Bestwick!
