  • Out of my "best ten",two belong to Coppola. I can see 'the godfather' or 'apocalypse now' over and over and I will be exited again and again.I love the movies and Coppola is one of the reasons.

What an appearance! Ford Coppola as the guest of the 'Actor Studio'. The first time I saw 'The Godfather 1' ,some thirty five years ago, I felt something big has happened. Today, I can close my eyes and most of the scene's will appear in my mind, but the most powerful one is, Michael sitting on the couch turning his head back to his father and asking, in the most natural way:" Who says we can't kill cop's?". Wow! The whole movie, in my opinion, is the transformation that Michael goes thru. In my opinion, the words above represent the transformation, but in a very powerful way. The war hero comes home to become the one who will become the 'Don'. Now ,to see Ford Coppola talking about film making in general and this movie in particular is an excitement of onece in a lifetime. I am not in the film making industry, I'm only a film fan. This episode was one of the best and I have it on tape to watch when ever I want to see an 'auther' talk about this wonderful art.
