Episode Summary

February 3, 1988
Super Bowl XXII is now in the history books, and the game was never close. The Washington Redskins defeated the Denver Broncos 42-10 thanks to the Redskins dominating the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball. Super Bowl MVP Doug Williams talks with Len Dawson about what it feels like to be the first black starting quarterback to win the Super Bowl, and what this means for other minority players in college and high school that want to do the same as he did. Also Nick talks with head coach Joe Gibbs on what this feels like to win the Super Bowl, and how it compares to the Super Bowl he won in the 1982 season. After those interviews and celebrations, Inside the NFL has their annual season in review highlighting some of the best moments of 1987, and also on an unrelated topic, Nick tells Len Dawson that he had just made it to the Pro Football Hall of Fame, and Len was really happy and teary-eyed about that moment. Thus concludes another season of the show the pros watch, HBO's Inside the NFL.moreless
