Episode Summary

January 14, 1987
The Conference Championships are now history and the Giants' defense made another big statement after shutting out the Redskins at home 17-0, and despite a big receiving day by Art Monk, the Giant defense kept Washington out of the end-zone and more importantly, off the scoreboard. In the AFC, the Browns had the lead for most of the game, until John Elway in the 4th quarter led his Broncos down the field, which eventually ended by the game-tying touchdown pass in the even now know as "The Drive". Rich Karlis kicked Denver into the Super Bowl by making a 26 yard field goal in overtime to defeat the Browns 23-20. Super Bowl XXI will feature the New York Giants and the Denver Broncos in two weeks from the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California. Len and Nick give New York and Denver their dues for a great season and realizing that they have one game to go. They look at the losers of the conference title games Cleveland and Washington and see what they have coming up for next season.moreless
