Episode Summary

September 30, 1987
There was no football played this week because the NFLPA (National Football League Players Association) convinced the players to go on strike amidst the labor negotiations that would earn players more money and benefits that the NFL owners were not willing to give out. The strike is entering its 1st week and very little has been done to resolve it. Len and Nick recall the strike that occurred during the 1982 season that nearly cut the season in half, and they talk about the likelihood that it'll happen again this season. There are talks that the franchises may look toward hiring replacement players to continue to entertain the fans they feel obligated to, and to avoid having something drastic like the 1982 season had, with a 2 month lockout.moreless
