Inspector Cartoons

Show Summary

The Inspector Cartoons were a series of dramatic cartoons in the 1960s. The entertaining animated show's feature character is based on the titular character of Jacques Clouseau, the laughable French police officer in the Pink Panther films. Although the main character was never officially given a name, he was an overall knowledgeable detective who was prone to hilarious moments of bad judgment. His adventures in crime solving often brought humor to the cartoon, whether it was the unrealistic villains or the ridiculous situations he got himself into. Through all his escapades, crooks usually escaped him and he had to learn to face his overpowering Commissioner (he is voiced by Larry Storch in the first two cartoons and Paul Frees in the following animations). Pat Harrington, Jr. provided the comical voices of The Inspector and his sidekick assistant, Deux-Deux, for all the Inspector Cartoons. Most of the Inspector shorts came to appear in The Pink Panther Show, a now infamous cartoon for audiences of all ages.moreless
