  • Gadget goes to a health spa to take a break from duties, yet he is unaware that it is actually a MAD trap to destroy him.

This, quite frankly, is a terribly uninteresting episode. The jokes and gags are not very funny and the action isn't at all exciting. While the MAD agents try desperately to kill Gadget (trying everything from an exploding basketball to a poisonous meal), Gadget demonstrates his usual aloofness to his own mortal danger while causing the agents to be victims of their own traps. The one interesting thing about the episode is that Chief Quimby is not actually blasted by a self-destructing message. Instead, Gadget accidentally knocks him in the face with his own office door.

A room full of stolen jewels gives Penny cause to call Chief Quimby ... as if the presence of a MAD agent speaking to Dr. Claw wasn't enough. There was no reason to have the room full of jewels in this episode. I guess just being a MAD agent isn't cause for arrest.

The female MAD agent in this episode is the same MAD agent from the episode "The Amazon."

Frankly, I'm surprised that this Gadget episode ranks so high among viewers. It must have been just loyal fans that ranked it that high. This is one of the worst Gadget episodes I've ever seen.
