The building is on fire. Penny and Brain run to Gadget, who tells Penny it was a good thing all of his gadgets were working perfectly. The building is about to explode. Gadget saves himself, and he also saves his moece and their dog as well. Claw knows that Gadget wins agian. He says "Next time, Gadget, I'll get you, next time! Gadget at the end has a safety tip for everybody. He explains that we all need to be in tip top shape. This is one of the most exciting episodes of Inpsector Gadget ever made!

This episode was just plain awful. The story was rushed, unexciting, and nearly devoid of action.

The only real action in the episode comes at the end when Gadget is trapped in the sheet metal factory. Dr. Claw tries to drop him in a vat of molten metal.

But, oh dear Lord at all the problems. The voices of Dr. Claw, Brain, and Mad Cat are different. Dr. Claw isn't as frightening. Also, there was almost no use of the dramatic effect that the show's music can place on a scene. It was just all dialogue and go-go-go. As for comedy ... most of it is physical comedy that only a three- or four-year-old would find funny.

Why would Metro Police shut down because MAD hasn't committed any crimes lately? Surely there are other crimes that occur in the city. Penny never uses her computerbook. To solve Dr. Claw's puzzle, she paints on a map in art class. To help Gadget down from the magnet, she uses her wrist watch! It seems as if the writer of the episode knew almost nothing about the characters.

The Rat character was kind of interesting. Gadget doesn't arrest him at the end of the episode. Dr. Claw gets away and so does the Rat! Quimby didn't show up to say, "Good work, Gadget. You've apprehended the burglar." I know that this doesn't fit into the Gadget formula, and not every story has to, but the formula that was used in its stead does not work at all.

    A poor, poor episode.
