  • Claw is disrupting the Winter Olympics and Gadget is sent to stop him.

Why have a moustached Gadget for the pilot episode? The storyline was very disjunct. At first Gadget is taking in the festivities, then he decides he wants private ski lessons, then he wants skating lessons. The Mad Yodeler was a silly character. When Brain is sent to help Gadget against the huge robot, it takes him seconds to get from the cabin to Claw's secret hideout, when earlier Gadget, Penny, and Brain are show having to drive there. The exploding letter gag was used multiple times. The main characters aren't properly introduced. I don't understand why the first episode took place in Winterland and not in Metro City. Why Claw wants to disrupt the Olympics isn't explained.

Wow, Penny sounds so different. Gadget ACTUALLY discovered a M.A.D. agent! Another feature? The moustache! They removed it because it looked to much like Inspector Clouseau from Pink Panther. MGM threatened to sue them, so they removed it. Not only does Gadget have it in the episode, but even in the intro as well! Gadget looked alright with one, but I am happy they removed it. He didn't look too good with it. The intro was also alittle different, including different scenes at some parts. This episode was alright. I mean, it was the pilot episode. Only some things to say: GO-GO-GADGET PILOT EPISODE!

Well, if you've seen this one you've seen It: the Moustache. Yes, the character designers originally drew Gadget with a thick black handlebar-esque moustache - it's even in the opening sequence (which differs slightly from the sequence used for the rest of the series). But apparently children everywhere Objcted Heavily to the facial hair, as Gadget remaind clean-shaven for the rest of the series. I kind of like the Moustache personally - Gadget doesn't look bad with one - but I'm glad they didn't keep it.

In this, the pilot episode, not only does Gadget have a moustache but a few other things are different. For one, Gadget is actually slightly competent: for insance he recognised a M.A.D. agent once! Also, Brain accompanied him on much of his mission. And Chief Quimby got blown up not once but *three* times - lucky or him they decided to cut that gag down to only once an episode. Penny sonds SO wimpy-girly in this episode as well, I'm glad Summer ironed out her performance after recording Gadget In Winterland, otherwise I think her character would have been unbearable for the rest of the season.

Dr. Claw and Madcat however started the series off as the same evil characters we came to count on week after week. Go-Go-Gadget Pilot; this one delivers a pretty solid Inspector Gadget experience...with bonus facial hair!
