  • Way to grab attention

I can see why CBS gave the greenlight on this pilot. Production values, character development, evolutionary premise. This is at a higher level than "Chuck" -- which I also loved. Gabriel has access to the NSA metadatabase. Um, hello!

I loved the irony of an actual gunbattle taking place in a paintball place. Also, it didn't take long for the initial dislike between Gabriel and Riley to resolve in their making the best of their situation and having each other's backs.

Thank you CBS for giving us 2 more strong, intelligent, likable, and beautiful female characters in Riley and Lillian. Well, in Lillian's case, moving Marg from one series to another.moreless
  • Very interesting start.

I thought the pilot was pretty good - the storyline is certainly very interesting and there is a lot of room for gerowth - I can certainly see this going in a lot of different ways...

Meanwhile the cast is very good too - a lot of people to like (most notably I love Meghan Ory) and the group is a good one.

I'm looking forward to more - the ending of this episode was great!moreless
  • A new and interesting version of Chuck.

A new and interesting version of Chuck. Will be interested to watch more, but I don't know how long they can keep me hooked.
  • Pretty good pilot...

but I didn't feel hooked. The acting was lame in parts and some of the fighting scenes felt like they were from a video game (in both the action and the dialogue). I can't find myself caring about the story too much yet.
  • More Meh than anything.

Even though Josh Holloway is an awesome actor, Sawyer was one of my favorite characters on Lost, here it seems his talents are wasted. Intelligence has a great premise but like Tim mention in his Should I Watch This editorial and his pilot review it seems that premise is going to be hampered by the writers and annoying TV laws. It started off with a good setup showing Gabriel's (Holloway) wife Amelia who apparently was in deep cover with a Pakistani or Iraqi militant group but find out that she possibly turned and was killed. The thing that disappointed me is they seemed to resolve that mystery albeit not completely at the end of the episode, I think this was a wasted opportunity that the writers could have used to propel the series forward for the season and give Gabriel something to fight for this 1st season. I mean think of the implications of him desperately wanting to find out what happened to his wife and with these super computer abilities he has the means at his disposal to do exactly that with the ramifications being is National Security more important or knowing what happened with Amelia? This alone could have created so much tension in the show especially between Riley and Gabriel plus the fact that Lillian would be pressured to shut down a loose cannon such as Gabriel thus the inherent risk in giving a human such power to begin with. But sadly I don't think it will get that deep and most likely will be another droll and boring procedural. Will give Intelligence the respect of the 4-episode only because of Josh and what a great actor he is.moreless

Lillian: My father once told me that there are three types of currency in this business. You can trade in secrets, you can trade in lies, or you can trade in favors.
