The episode preview was done by Inuyasha, Shippo, Miroku, Sango, and Kagome. This is the first time all five of the main characters have done the episode preview.
This is an episode in which a scene in played between the ending credits and the coming up next preview.
Before The Dried Youkai are hit by hot water and after Kagome comes through the crowd, you can see the same Mushroom demon as a costume going down the stairs.
All of the demons in this episode are food demons (mushroom, watermelon, catfish.) The flower-shaped demon that appears during the choir performance is probably supposed to be a burdock plant (burdock is a traditional Japanese root vegetable), The plants (and the demon) look a lot like thistle plants.
The song Kagome's choir sings is about the breaking of the Shikon jewel and how Kagome and Inuyasha looked for the shards. The song ends with how Naraku was looking for the last shard, to put the jewel back together.
(Inuyasha searches for the dried-up demons) Inuyasha: (smells the aroma of all the food) Guess I won't be able to sniff them out. Hey, I know what that is! (sees curry) That stuff burns my tongue! (runs away in fear)
(Inuyasha joins the school play) Inuyasha: What the hell are you doing? Hojo: I will fight you for her. Inuyasha: Fine with me! (takes out Tetsusaiga)
Inuyasha: (after using the Wind Scar on the demon) Ha, how's that? Kagome: (acting as if everything is part of the play) Let's go, Pekopon. Inuyasha: Huh? Kagome: (acting) Please, take me away now, while we still have the chance. Lead me away, beyond the sky! Inuyasha: No, seriously. Do you have a head injury?
The song that Kagome and the other students sing is to the tune of "Ode to Joy" by Ludwig Van Beethoven.
The scene, where Naraku talks to Mimiseri, comes from chapter 287 in volume 29 of the manga.
This episode's plot does not exist in the manga. This episode would be considered a "filler" episode.
In the scene where Naraku is walking through the woods the ending music of Come can be heard playing.
In the original Japanese version, when Kagome makes food from the store she says they made tacos, baked potatoes, meat balls, etc. which makes sense since they are in Japan and it is a cultural festival, but she is not so sure it is safe to eat. This is changed in the dubbed version to some people might not understand why tacos would be strange to eat.
First aired on YTV (in Canada), on Feb. 17, 2006.
During the Choir, the song was played with the tune of Beethoven's Ode to Joy.
Lum from Rumiko Takahashi's "Urusei Yatsura" can be seen running through the halls of Kagome's school.
In Japan, this episode is called 'The Dried Youkai and The Fighting School Festival.'
This is the first Episode where Namie Amuro's "Come" is the ending theme.
This is the first episode where Tackey & Tsubasa's 'One Day, One Dream' is the opening theme.
This episode aired in Japan on October 13th 2003
At the Festival several Anime characters appear in the halls of Kagome's school. Some characters were Luffy from "One Piece," Dorie from "Magical Doremi," Munto from "Munto," Shinichi/Jimmy Kudo and Ran Mouri/Rachel Moore from "Detective Conan" ("Case Closed"), a Sailor Scout from "Sailor Moon" as well as Lum from "Urusei Yatsura."
Sailor Moon When the five girls burst into the store to buy the food in a hurry, they had the same kind of stance the inner sailor scouts used in Sailor Moon.
