Episode Summary

EDIT
Castle Beyond the Looking Glass
Inuyasha and company start out battling Naraku. Then each person goes their separate way: Sango to find her younger brother Kohaku, Miroku goes back to his former home, and Inuyasha, Kagome and Shippo go to find the rest of the Shikon shards. Unfortunately this peaceful interlude doesn't last. Shortly afterward, the full moon rises, and just keeps rising each night bringing with it the promise of danger. Kagura and Kanna go in search of a mirror, where, locked inside, is the ruler of the eternal night, Kaguya. To set her free they must gather five items and drop them into the five lakes of Fuji. Setting her free means danger for Inuyasha and the others, who are forced to face this new threat.moreless

Definitely the best of all of the 4 movies, this movies really brings out the relationship between Kagome and Inuyasha, with the kiss there is absolutly no way Inuyasha doesn't love Kagome. This movie really shows how much more he cares for Kagome than Kikyo. Can't get more obvious than that. But while the kiss was a very important scene the movie was even better mixed with Romance and Action to bring the Inuyasha series the justice it deserves, a definite favorite in my book and a must see for all Inuyasha fans, as well of fans of the Kagome and Inuyasha couple.moreless
  • This was an awesome exciting movie. I enjoy seeing them fight Naraku.

I thought this movie was done pretty well. I've seen all of them and I like them. The only thing that puzzles me is when Sango asks where Inuyasha is...Kagome says "not yet". And it says in the trivia that it doesn't make sense...actually it does. It is nighttime with the full moon and Inuyasha become human. Also, the other companions don't know that Inuyasha has become human. And the only reason why she said "not yet" is because Naraku can't find out about Inuyashas' state yet. I understand that little piece when I was watching it before...I actually understood it. Some of the other watchers may or maynot have understood it...but I did. I love to watch this movie many, many times.moreless

  • Inuyasha, Kagome, Sango, Miroku, Kirara, and Shippo kill Naraku and the band seperates into Sango and Kirara, Miroku, Kagome and Inuyasha and Shippo. However, the band is reunited in the middle of the movie, while Kagome is held captive at the Castle.moreless

it was the most AMAZING thing ever! i loved it sooo much! the way the story came out was perfect. i did notice that the movie drawings are slightly more pointy, however and i think that the drawings are better in the Anime, but all in all this movie is the best of the InuYasha movies. i reccomend it easily. The Kissing scene was played out just right and it really shows the relationship between InuYasha and Kagome. It shows how Miroku is falling for Sango, and thats cute. There are a lot of tender moments in this manga. This is a good movie to watch anytime.moreless
  • The movie starts off with all of them (except for Inuyasha who joins in later) fighting Naraku once that is over Kagome goes to her world for a while and returns back to help everyone fight once again only to do something foolish and meets someone u know.moreless

This movie is so awesome its shows how much they both care for each other by Kagome Risking her life for Inuyasha by taking the arrow for him and how Inuyasha wont turn full demon for Kagome since he loves her so much :D. It was a shame not to see much of Sesshomaru and that even though the movie was HOT they might have made it better then it already was. Miroku hasn't changed either which was also good because he is better a pervert because it makes the show even funnier. One thing I’d wish for is that Kikyo hurry up and stay dead man I hate her.

Anyways that’s all I'm going to say :D!!!moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (16)

    • In the Inuyasha timeline, this story takes place much earlier than season 7. Naraku is in his earlier form - baboon skull helmet hiding his face, neutral grey shawl covering his body - Prior to emerging from Mt. Hakurei, this is not his final form.

    • This is the only Inuyasha movie in which Rin and Jaken do not make an appearance.

    • At the end of the movie, Kagome "sits" Inuyasha for making it seem as though he didn't really want to kiss her.

    • When Miroku paints a picture of his Wind Tunnel onto his right hand using his left hand, he says that he can't paint very well with it. This means that Miroku is right-handed.

    • Here are the chants by Kaguya: The first chant, requiring the Crystal from the Dragon's Neck, is thrown into Lake Yamanaka, and is the first step to Kaguya's freedom:

"Oh, arrow of mine, with power pure and immense to slay the dragon. Do your good deed fast and swift, grasp the crystal in its neck." This is the second chant, which required the Jewel Sprig Horai to be dropped into Lake Shoji, one of the 5 Lakes of Fuji: "I ventured to see if what I had heard was true. But this jeweled sprig with leaves so real, 'twas nothing more than an empty promise." This is the third chant which Kaguya recites, while Kagura throws Inuyasha's cloth of the fire rat into Lake Motosu:

"Could you have but known that it would burn so swiftly, this raiment of fur, you would then not have sat with such little show of concern". This is the fourth chant, which requires the Swallow's Cowrie Shell to be thrown into Lake Sai: "Time has passed swiftly, as I have waited to see the shell you promised, they say that I wait in vain. Could this be so?" The fifth, and final chant that Kaguya recites, calls for the Stone Bowl of Buddha to be tossed into Lake Kawaguchi, the last of the 5 Fuji Lakes: "I hoped to find the gleam of the fallen dew, but nothing can I see. Why did you go yonder to Mount Ogura?"

    • Whenever Kagome and Inuyasha do something romantic in this and the first movie, Miroku wants to do the same thing with Sango.
      1) When Kagome kisses Inuyasha, he then hugs her. At that point, Miroku is walking toward Sango, wanting her to go to his arms.
      2) At the end, Miroku wants to kiss Sango because he says Kagome and Inuyasha did it.

    • When Miroku is talking about the dark desires of the heart, his eye turns the same color as Inuyasha's.

    • At one point when Kaguya was watching Inuyasha through the mirror, his haori was fully repaired, but Kagura and Kanna took the part that covers his left arm.

    • It's odd that Kagome manages to hit the robe and the mirror when Kagome shoots Miroku's staff at Kaguya, since there is a solid wall of light obstructing her view.

    • The reason Sango wasn't sliced in half by her Hiraikotsu, during this movie, is because she has hidden armor, tougher than the average demon.

    • There's no tear or blood when Inuyasha gets impaled by Kaguya.

    • When Inuyasha digs his claws into Kagome's shoulder there are bloodstains on her shirt, but when you look again they're not there.

    • When Kagome gets shot with the arrow, you can see that the green flap on her uniform gets pinned under it, but when the wound heals itself, there's no green flap. The bloodstain is on the white shirt.

    • Inuyasha should have been able to hear the conversation between Shippo and Hojo since he does have demon hearing.

    • In the movie they kept refering to Inuyasha's Haori as a Kimono. Those are two different things and should be treated as such.

    • When Inuyasha is transforming into a full demon, Miroku runs over and tries to snap him out of it and Inuyasha strikes him with his claws. When you see Miroku on the floor, and later throughout the movie, his clothes have no rips and even though he's grabbing his chest, there's never any blood.

  • QUOTES (4)

    • Sango: (after Miroku attempts to kiss her) What do you think you're doing?
Miroku: What do you think? Kagome and Inuyasha did it, why don't we reap the benefits of intimacy.
      (Kagome and Inuyasha blush)
Kagome: I don't know what you're talking about! I'm not listening, la la la la!
Inuyasha: It wasn't like I wanted to do it to ya!
Kagome: Hmm! What exactly is that supposed to mean?
Inuyasha: Uh, I meant it wasn't my idea. I mean, you're the one who forced yourself on me, remember?

    • Miroku: (about Sango's slap) Ah, this pain brings back such fond memories. It's been far, far too long, Sango.
Sango: Well you haven't changed a bit, you pervert.
Miroku: (laughs) I know, I know!

    • Miroku: (sigh of relief) Sango isn't here, what am I thinking?
      Mushin: What ails you?
Miroku: (about Sango) It's a woman, whose jealous wrath seems to haunt my every thought. Will I ever recover from this fear, Monk?
      Mushin: (laughs)

    • Shippo: Hmm? Ah, I get it. You were the spying pervert.
Akitoki: Hush hush hush! Don't ever say that aloud!
Shippo: Hmm, all right, but you have to be my servant from now on.
      Akitoki: Huh? (groans)

  • NOTES (4)

  • ALLUSIONS (2)

    • The Tale of the Bamboo Cutter
The five items that Kaguya required, seem to be based on this story, in which the Princess of the Moon, named Kaguya, had five princes give her one of the following items, each item representing one of the five elements: Wood (The Jeweled Sprig), Earth (The Stone Bowl of the Buddha), Fire (Cloth of the Fire Rat), Metal (Crystal from the Dragon's neck), and Water (Swallow's Cowrie Shell).

    • The Celestial Maiden Kaguya
There really is a story in Japan about a celestial maiden and her celestial robe. In this story the man sees her bathing and steals her robe. They live happily for awhile until she finds her robe. She returns to the stars to leave the man alone forever, but someone feels sorry for him and puts him in the sky with her. They are separated by the Milky Way and are only allowed to meet on special days.
