This episode starts off with some demon rampaging through a town. We then see a young girl kill the demon with a very large boomerang and receive a shard from it. She is introduced as Sango. Sango, her brother, Kohaku, her father, and other villagers are summoned to a castle to kill a demon that has been plauging them. Sango easily dispatches of it and Koahku goes in to finsish it off, but everything sudddenly goes horribly wrong. This is one of my favorite episodes because it inrtoduces my favorite character in the series, it may be one of the older ones, but it is easily one of the bestmoreless

This episode was amazing. Sango is my favrotie girl character. Never seen and episode like this one before. It was exciting that it had me jumping out of my sit. It was very very very cool was well. I really I mean really liked it. Nothing I mean nothing like it. Well in the Inuyasha series I mean. Just s very good episode. I acually have this episode on tape, I recorded it. Thats how good it is. Well lets see, Sango is a very good character. I think that they made this episode very well and there is nothing more I can say about it.moreless
  • A good episode, but very sad on what happend to the village of demon slayers.

A good episode, but very sad on what happend to the village of demon slayers. It began when sango went to a village to destroy a demon and got a jewel shard out of it. Than she went back to her village and gave it to her father which is the lord of the village. They been collecting jewel shards from demons for some time now. Meanwhile inuyasha heard that the demon slayer village has quite a bit of jewel shards and inuyasha intends to still it but when they got there there village was wipe out and they told sango that it was inuyasha that did.moreless
  • This episode intorduces us to Sango, a demon slayer. Her fellow slayers, along with her brother Kohaku, go to exterminate a demon. Kohaku is killed, along with his father and the rest, except Sango.moreless

This episode was good. The new charcaters are pretty decent, although Kohaku, who is nowhere near as skilled as his sister, is not. The opening sequence where Sango kills a giant bug is pretty cool, and she takes a purple shard from it and brings it back to her village. Sango is a really good character, who uses a giant boomerang as a weapon. This is one of the better episodes I have seen, and the action was good. Some of the parts in the episode were pretty stupid as when Kohaku was telling Sango that he is afraid of becoming one of the demon slayers.moreless
  • This episode brings a new character, Sango. She is a demon exterminator and is very strong.

    9.6
This episode mainly revolves around Sango, the demon exterminator. I like Sango because she is strong and actually fights. Unlike Kagome she usually sits back and lets the others fight. It was cruel when Naraku said that Inuyasha killed the Sango\'s village. So when Sango heard that she was determined to kill Inuyasha because she loves her village and people so much. I love Sango\'s spirit of fighting because I don\'t like when the girls act weak when they really are strong. Sango fights and I really like that about her.

    • This episode is based on chapters 85-88 in volume 9 of the manga.

    • "Greyed scenes" during the ending theme are changed from the original Japanese version. The original version consists of recap scenes from the episode.
      Original scenes:
      1. Sango slaying the centipede.
      2. Kagome looking at the Shikon shard piece and thinking.
      3. Sango and Kohaku sitting together.
      4. Sango fighting a possessed Kohaku.
      5. Kagome putting flowers on the graves of the dead.
      6. Brief showing of Naraku's puppet.

    • Despite being called "Kirara" in the translated manga, the dub changed it to "Kilala", supposedly because "Kirara" would be difficult to pronounce.

Although it certainly would be awkward to pronounce the "R's, it has always been pronounced "Kilala" and written as "Kirara". When Japanese mangas are translated into English, sometimes names with "L" sounds are written as "R's".

Romaji episode title: Youkai Taijiya - Sango Toujou
