All the party and such escape the crumbling mountain after Naraku comes out of hiding and shows off his new body. Inuyahsa stays behind to save Koga and manges to save him despite the mountain falling apart and the posion at the bottom. Outside, Kikyo meets up with Naraku and the two argue about some trivial matters. Naraku then "shows" her his true purpose, but just ends up stabbing her with his arm or something. He finally kills her and Sesshomaru and Inuyasha both argue about her as well. This episode was alright, but I thought it was a lot of talking, not too interesting

The group is all stuck in Mt. Hakurei and witness Naraku getting his new form. Inuyahsa tries to use the wind scar on him, but Naraku sends it back at him, almost killing everyone around him. Naraku leaves the crumbling mountain, leaving Inuyahsha and friends to die. Naraku, who has something he wants to accomplish goes after Kikyo. He finally meets up with her and is finally able to kill her. Sesshomaru shows up and the two briefly fight, with Narkau leaving. Inuyahsa soon learns that Kikyo is dead, and blames his brother. He soon comes to realization of what really happened. This is one of the best episodes of the series.

This was a good episode but, also sad. It was painful to watch but you need to see, dont miss out. Inuyasha told kogame that he will get koga, let shippo take you out of this mountain. Inuyasha rush down to the bottom of the cave and took koga and started heading up the moutain that had to blow a way open. They finally made their way out of the castle and koga and inuyasha started arguing again like usual. Than he sensed something was wrong, and went to where he thought kikio was but only found sesshomaru and sesshomaru said that he wasnt after you but after kikio and inuyasha saw her bow and fell to ground saying no!!!
  • Naraku finally kills Kikyo. Inuyasha starts having bad feelings and decides to go looking for Kikyo only to find her bow and his brother at the top of Mt. Hakurei.

Even though this episode was quite dramatic one, it still deserves a ten. I rated it "painful to watch" because it really is if you understand the relationship between Kikyo and Inuyasha. Through out the episode, Inuyasha keeps imagining that Kikyo is calling out to him, even as he's saving Kagome and Koga. As soon as he gets them to safetly he rushes off to confim his bad feelings. When he reaches the too of Mt. Hakure he learns that he is too late. The priestess has already been killed by Naraku and he immediately lashes out to Sesshomaru. The scene between Inuyasha and his brother is great. Sesshomaru claims to know nothing of Kikyo and is only glad to inform Inuyasha that it is his fault that Kikyo died because he could not protect her. Inuyasha drops to his knees and sheds tears for the woman he always loved. It's a great episode because it gets to the root of Inuyasha's relationship with Kikyo. You get to see how deeply connected they are even though years have passed. He just knew something was wrong and she knew she could count on him to be there for her. A lot of people will be happy that Kikyo died but I personally cannot see why people hold a grudge against her. She's more of a woman than Kagome will ever be.
  • As Mt. Hakurei distegrates Inuyasha rescues Koga. But as they leave Inuyasha has vistions of Kikyo. Inuyasha escapes only to find that Kikyo died!

Inuyasha goes deep in the bowels of Mt. Hakurie to find Koga. When he finds him Inuyasha relizes that he can't find any exits. While above Miruko uses the wind tunnel to blast out an exit, and as Inuyasha climbs he finds it too. While Naraku escaped he goes out and finds Kikyo. Kikyo and Naraku have a fueled argument about why he is here. Then Naraku reveals his plains and kills Kikyo as she falls into his river of miasma! Then Sesshomaru appers, and Naraku tests out his new body agiants him. Just after the battle Inuyasha appers to find that Kikyo died. He then gets mad at Sesshomaru and Sesshomaru tells him its his fault that Kikyo died.

I like this episode, but it bothered me a bit because I like Kikyo. I kinda felt bad for Inuyasha because he couldn't do anything to stop Naraku from killing Kikyo. I wish Kikyo would have shot her arrow and tried to protect herself, but she didn't because she figured Naraku wouldn't attack her with Onigumo's human heart. Kagome is gonna have a rough time now since Inuyasha is going to try and find Kikyo. She's going to get jealous! I'm glad Koga was saved. I thought he was going to die and Naraku was going to send the Sanyosho to obtain the Jewel Shards in his legs. Guess I was wrong. It was a really intense episode, though. Poor Kikyo! Farewell!
  • I love Kikyo and in this episode is really sad because she Die :( But...

in overall this episode was amazing starting with Kikyo and Naraku confrontation, Kikyo is really confident that naraku can't do anything to her because of onigumo's heart but she doesn't realize that naraku got rid of onigumo's Heart, is really shocking how naraku attacks kikyo and leave her wounded in the shoulder, but the most dramatic part was when Naraku pass through kikyo's body with his claws and she remember the moments when Inuyasha and her live happily 50 years ago, also it is really painful Inuyasha's attitude when he arrives to the place, He feels frustated because he couldn't do anything to save his beloved Kikyo

    Amazing Episode a Must see
  • Shame Kikyo didn't stay dead.....again and again.

The problem with this episode is that Kikyo just keeps coming back and back, it's really annoying. She should just stay dead and this episode would get 10s. I love the way Inuyasha says the title theme though, like it's the saddest thing to have ever happened to him.

Anyways, back to the actual episode. Naraku with his new body goes after Kikyo and when she holds an arrow to him, he answers her questions and then breaks her bow. He cuts her with one of his spikes and then throws her into a river of his miasma. Inuyasha gets this really bad feeling and goes after her, with the rest of the group far behind, not even knowing where he was going. Sesshomaru apparently just stood there and watched Naraku kill Kikyo and after destroying Naraku's body and only to have him whimp out and leaves, laughing because he can rebuild his new body. Inuyasha sees the broken bow and Sesshomaru and blames him for not doing anything and then Sesshomaru says to blame Inuyasha and Naraku. Inuyasha gets all upset and makes Kagome feel bad because she can't do anything to make him feel better. The end, the next two episodes were reallllly dumb.
  • I love this episode because Naraku kills Kikyo.Inuyasha wasn't happy, but there's nothing he can do about but face the facts.Inuyasha is stupid, with Kikyo gone he & Kagome can be together, but NO he has to look for Kikyo.

I was never a fan of Kikyo, but cuz I was in a good mood, I decided to watch this one again. It was full of some pretty moments here and there. Like where Inuyasha went after Koga just to be "the nice guy" and the little act going on between the two of them when they finally escape from the collasping mountain.

This is one of the Kikyo's best appearances (and it has nothing to do with the fact she dies). She's facing Naraku alone, seeming to be bent on destroying him (duh!) and she's being a good guy by trying to get rid of the bad guy. I admire her courage in that scene. However, when Naraku threw her down the cliff and she was slowly falling down while thinking back to Inuyasha, my gut was wrenching. I felt really bad about Kikyo dying, I was close to even crying over it. Kind of a step before my eyes watering up.

Sesshomaru was also pretty civil to Inuyasha, but him invoking the blame on him only makes him feel worse.

For the first time, (or 2nd since ep. 15), I feel bad for Kikyo and especially terrible for Inuyasha because he wasn't there when it happens and was unable to do a thing.

Most of all, I give this one a 10 because it has a bit of everything, with just the right amount of everything that makes the show great, Drama, Romance and Humor.

well no offense to all you kikyo lovers....but it's about time she is out of the picture. Inuyasha is upset but it isn't like she really died for the second time it was her destiny to die at Naraku's hands she even says so herself. The only reason i did not believe that Kikyo had truly died is because the remainder of her soul did not return to Kagome. And how could Inuyasha not know that he wasn't even Naraku's target to begin with. They have mentioned that it was Kikyo, Naraku wanted not Inuyasha several times before this episode. but with all being said and done, It was a Great episode.
  • Finally! Kikyo gets her cummupance and all Inu fans do the happy dance!

That' right! The witch finally died! I know some people would be sad at the idea of Kikyo dying, and yes, character death is what always sheads a tear from my eye in anime, but Kikyo always tried to kill Inuyasha regardless of the fact that she knew he hadn't really caused her death and she spends her life trying to make Kagome miserable. She even tried to kill Kagome a few times and keeps trying to make Kagome go home. Seriously, she's mean, evil and deserved it. Good job Naraku. You are no longer the most hated villain on this show.

I love Kikyo.I have a theory for why Kikyo was so mean to Inu. She said in her first life that the reason Naraku won was because her feelings got in the way. Do you think she\\\\\\\'d let that happen again? She HAD to push Inu away. Kikyo gave jewel shards to Naraku because she knows Inu wants to become a full demon. When half-demons go full demon when their life is in danger, they lose all control. If Inu used the jewel...he\\\\\\\'d be JUST like that...but ALL the time. She still loved him and she didnt want that to happen.

No offense to Kikyo fans but I'm glad she's dead. I mean, I always like the whole Inuyasha+Kagome relationship thing. I think they're cute together, Kikyo is just there to make Inuyasha worried, guilty, and make his life miserable. I don't think it was a disadvantage to get rid of her, because she was dead anyways, so I guess it's fine without her. But, this is just my personal opinion, I don't mean to offend anyone who likes her. Overall this was a pretty good episode for me, though it is probaby bad for Kikyo fans because of her loss.

I hate Kikyo!but it was still verys sad.I cry every time I see kikyo.and I finally got to see inuyasha's tears!at the very end, when the burried her again I felt sympathy for Inuyasha.Kikyo was very nice, and had deep feelings for Inuyasha. And the name is perfect so with that,I'd like to say,Goodbye Kikyo,we'll miss you.
  • All part of Naraku's plan, to kill Kikyou, that was his main target. Trap Kouga, Get InuYashas soft side to help Kouga, and while doing so, Kill Kikyou. So ingenius, and Inuayasha didn't even see it coming. And now, his love, he failed to protect her. Ses

It really did sadden me. I am a huge Kikyou fan, and I could care less if people hate me for that. I know that it doesn\'t mean the series is ending because she isn\'t the main character, and may I just say, even if I spoil something, that she isn\'t dead. How I know this is because I wanted and still want to see a fateful love song of before we met, and the ones when she was in the whit cloak with the two shikigami girls. And yes...that is her. But it still saddened me, because as per usual, Kagome could care less, and the next episode is all about her because she can\'t keep herself out of danger. *Sigh*. Enough Said, it was a sad episode, and I am NOT, repeat NOT looking forward to the next episode because it\'s all about KAGOME. And I have had enough of her in trouble, eh? =D! ~Yours Truly, Melissa

This episode was a turning point for me. I was a Kikyou hater but I've come to realize that her character is truly tragic. She was obligated to live her life to aid others while putting her own happiness with the one she loved aside. She died (the first time) thinking her love betrayed her. She's resurrected and finds her love with another. Then she's killed again by the same person!

Her death was so sad. The fact that her dying thoughts were of the times she spent with Inuyasha and his name was her last word made me realize she truly does love him. (So I don't understand why she acts so cold towards him) Also the fact that Inuyasha got visions of her as she was dying made me think that perhaps they are soulmates. Maybe their love was deep. It made me think that it's only right for Inuyasha to end up with Kikyou. (But then again, I'm still a hardcore Inu/Kag supporter)

The pain and guilt Inuyasha must have felt to yet again fail in protecting her was awful too.

A heartbreaking episode that caused a lingering sadness.
  • I was so glad when I found out Kikyo was going to dis cuz i never really liked her.

I never really liked Kikyo so when I saw that she was going to die, I was actually happy but then when Inuyasha got so heartbroken I got so sad cuz he cant see that he has Kagome with him, He really needs to prioritize. I think that it is so sad because Kikyo is giving him the whol guilt trip thing and Kagome is the one thats sufferring. But oh well, he justs needs to think everything through.
  • Yes! Yes! Yes! she goes back to where she came from! YESSS! Go home and stay there! bye Kikyo! Oh and do you think that you can take Naraku too? And Leave Inu and Kagome alone can't you get that Inu loves her now!

Kikyo dies in this episode! hallouya!! she is just some dead person from the bottom of the world! thank you Naraku! but I still hate you. You try to kill Inuyasha and his friends! your from where Kikyo came from! Maybe you should take Kikyo back and stay there! No one wants you here! rather you exist or not!

Here in this episode, we see inuyasha Saving Koga. Y would he do that???? Come on Inu, U know u want Kagome all by yourself!!! Let Koga Die!!! But if it's for the story, that's aite. The biggest part of the episode is where Kikyo dies. Now i know there are many more episodes for Inuyasha, But i didn't know that she would die this fast. Her death really impacted all Inu fans, I guess, by what she did when she ived on earth. Before Kikyo died, we begin to see them unveil. It seems that back in the days Kikyo really liked Inuyasha. and when Inuyasha saw that her formal girl, Kikyo died, It really told him something. He should've protected her. As Inuyasha keeps on rolling, we will never for get Kikyo. In loving memory for Her.

This was awesome! I loved it! this is exactly why i love this show, I never liked kikyo, acutally i pretty much hated her with a passion, but still i found myself in tears when she was actually gone, mostly because of all the emotion that went on afterward. THis was great, the world would be perfect if every episode of every TV show was this well done.

I like Kikyo a lot, but I am happy for Kagome. I am sad to see Kikyo go back to where she came from, yet it is for the best. I hope the episode gets more exciting even though Kikyo is not in it. I am sure she will find her way to come back in some way. Farewell, fair lady. This is unexpectedly well done in script. Excellent!
