  • in this ep. inuaysha and kagome come across a half deamon who is being bullied by villigers. they decide to help.

this was an awsome ep. it shows alot of character development for inuyasha, and it has one of the cutest inuyasha/kagome scenes yet. inuyasha speech about wahti it was like to be a half demon was great. it shows that he can really open up to kagome. it also show that kagome can understand him. i also read this scene in the manga(i also read the manga) it was just as good, if not better when i read it. it was a good ep,. because it focused alot on character development and you really get to see a different side of inuyasha character.moreless
  • While searching for herbs to help Keilala, Inuyasha and Kagome travel to a garden that is being run by... another half-demon

While on my quest to see every Inuyasha ep, I found this particular one. I recently saw ep. 96 where Rin gets herbs from Jinenji for Jaken and I figure, I'll get to see what he's all about.

The beginning was kinda funny how they were saying Myoga was useless compared to Keilala, but then again, he saved Inuyasha's life in ep. 13. But whatever, can't be helped. It was kinda neat how it was just Inuyasha and Kagome just like it was in the beginning of the series. The reason I liked this one was mainly because it reveals a lot about Inuyasha's past, but more to the point, the way he felt about it. There were moments here and there that I thought were cute. Like in the hut, where Jinenji's mother says that Inuyasha was born pretty compared to Jinenji and Kagome tugs his ear "he's cute all right, if you're into dogs".

The speech at the very end was definitely one of my favorite Inuyasha speeches throughout the series. Makes me all warm and fuzzy about Inuyasha

"I'm not one or the other. Not really a demon, not really human. That's all. There was no place for me, so I had to make one for myself. Then I realized, I had a place, but I was the only one in it. I didn't know any other way to live."

"Inuyasha, I'm just... happy to hear it"

    "Happy how?"

"It's just that you've never talked to me like that before. I'm glad you have. I've always wondered about your past, you know. I told myself that you were all bark and no bite, but I wasn't sure. I'm just glad you can talk to me seriously is all"

    "and that makes you happy"

"Yeah, so don't be afraid to show me your soft side, okay?"

"You act like I'm some pet who needs company"

"what's wrong with that? It's nice not to be alone."

[that's true, I'm not alone, am I. Somehow, without my even noticing it, it felt so natural, having Kagome near]moreless
  • It contains one of the best Inuyasha/Kagome moments.

This ep is the start of showing how Inuyasha feels and felt growing up. His pain and the isolation he felt seems to be revealed a bit in this ep. I believe that this is one of the first eps when Inuyasha realizes that he likes being around Kagome, not because she looks like Kikio and it is out of habit or even because she can find jewel shards, but because she is herself. He realizes that he has a family or at least a friend with her. Kagome also realizes that Inuyasha was hurt by what went on in his past.moreless
  • Kagome and Inuyasha go to find an herbal antidote for Kilala, who was poisoned by Naraku. They meets villagers that say that Jenenji, a half-demon was eating people, and Inuyasha tries to fight him for the herb.moreless

When i saw the preview, I though this was gonna be another one of those crappy fillers, but it turned out to be really good.

The beginning of this episode was funny, when Kagome, Inuyasha, and Shipo couldnt find a time when Myoga was useful. There actually WAS a time, when he tried to suck the posion out of Inuyasha in episode 13, but that would have ruined the funnyness.

Another really funny part was when Kagome and Inuyasha were talking with Jinenji and his mom. Jinenji's mom said that for every "demon born pretty, theres another one born that aint" and Kagome grabs Inuyashas ears and says hes cute.

The best part of this episode was without a doubt the end, when Kagome ask Inuyasha if he was picked on for being a half demon. At first he lies to her, but then he admits that he was. This is one of the first, if not THE first time that Inuyasha talk about his past with Kagome.moreless

  • QUOTES (10)

    • Inuyasha: I'm not one or the other. Not really a demon, not really human. I'm not either, that's all. There was no place for me, so I had to make one for myself. And then I realized, I had a place, but I was the only one in it. I didn't know any other way to live.

    • Kagome: C'mon, you guys, you're being unfair! Myoga's been a big help to us, don't you remember that time that he . . . that he . . . uh. . .
      Myoga: G-r-r!

    • Inuyasha: (to Jinenji) What's the matter, didn't your mother ever tell you not to eat people smaller than you?

    • Jinenji's Mom: For each one born pretty like you there's another born what ain't.
Kagome: (grabs Inuyasha's ear ) He's cute all right, but only if you're into dogs.
      Inuyasha: Rrr..

    • Kagome: You do like spending time with me, right?
Inuyasha: Depends, is it a trick question?

    • Kagome: So don't even think about attacking there, ok? If you hurt me you'll all have to die cause Inuyasha here'll have to avenge me.
      Inuyasha: I will? Since when?
Kagome: You better avenge me! What am I supposed to do if you don't?
Inuaysha: Fine, I'll avenge you, already.

    • Kagome: Just because he's different doesn't mean he's guilty.
Inuyasha: But that's what it means when you're different--nobody trusts you, you're always the first to be blamed and it is always, always, your fault!

    • Kagome: Aaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh! A worm!!!
Jinenji's Mother: She's scared of a worm, but not Jinenji?

    • Kagome: It's nice not to be alone!
Inuyasha: (thinking) It's true! I'm not alone, am I? Somehow, without my ever noticing it, it felt so natural, having Kagome near.

    • Sango: So they went to find medicine did they? Inuyasha and the others?
Miroku: Yes, they did, and I've stayed back here to protect and look after you, so no more talking and try and get some rest.
      (Sango stares at Miroku)
      Miroku: Something wrong?
Sango: It might be safer outside.
Shippo: And that's why Kagome sent me, so that I could protect you from being protected by him.
      Myoga: What he said.
      (Miroku sighs)

  • NOTES (4)

    • Jack the Giant Killer
Jinenji's mom: Better leave before we grind your bones to make our bread

When Jack reaches the top of the beanstalk the Giant exclaims:

      Fee Fie Foh Fum
I smell the blood of an Englishman
Be he alive or be he dead
I'll grind his bones to make my bread

    • Baba Yaga

Kagome says, " I thought she was Baba Yaga."

In Nordic Mythology, Baba Yaga (sometimes Jezi Baba) is the hideous man-eating female demon of Slavonic traditions. According to some versions of her myth, her mouth is said to strech from Earth to the Gates of Hell. She lived in a strange house which had legs like a chicken's at each corner, and stood inside a fence made of human bones. When she wished to travel, it was believed that she flew on an iron kettle.
